I created a document on a mac in InDesign CS version 3.0 and sent it to someone
with the PC version CS2 4.0 and they can't open my file. Does anyone know a way
I can save this so they can open it? I've searched the internet and help files for an
answer and haven't found one yet though I'm still looking.
A few things: yes, it did have the .indd extension and I sent a zipped file so it
shouldn't have lost anything in the email transfer. I've never had a problem
myself opening client's PC InDesign files on the mac.

have you tried making a .pdf of the document?

What did you zip it with?

He needs the native file so a pdf won't work.

I zipped it with zipit.

Zipit is a Mac application.  Try Stuffit.

You think it lost something in the translation rather than it being an application
problem then?

Most likely.
