i think the first one ever given to me was one of my brothers old one's he didnt want anymore. it was transformers and i loved it. when i started buying comics on my own, probably my first was x-men. took a long hiatus from comics until about a month ago and have started reading ulitmate x-men. there's a lot of stuff i want to get into, but some of the trade books get kinda expensive after a while if you get into deep into the story.

my first two that I remember owning are a Captain America with the Punisher standing on Cap's shield on the cover and an issue of Hulk.

I used to sneak into my brothers things all the time. I don't remember which issue was the first one I saw but I fell in love with The Fantastic Four.

I NEED HELP WITYH THIS:

It was a two-part story with Spidey fighting a fighter-guy who had, basically, a bo staff with fire on the end of each side. Spidey was in his black costume at the time and was beating the S out of the bad guy on the second cover.

So awesome ... I was hooked to comics for life.

PS -- It was Amazing Spider Man

Alright, I'm gonna admit it...The Sandman was my first ever purchased comic book. Even if it's played out, it's a damn good series.

Since I didn't start reading comics until early highschool, the first superhero comics I probably bought were from the Generation X series. Loved that storyline for awhile. Or maybe it was Madman...Oh man, and The Atomics! Good stuff. I really need to get back to comic books one of these days.

I already posted my first comic, but as a kid in the 70's my favorites were always Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, The Avengers, The Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Shang-Chi, and Conan. I didn't get into DC Comics until the end of the 70's, when I discovered Batman was a lot different than the 1960's TV show.
