Nope, it's a lot easier to steal songs off the internet than to steal a CD from FYE.

If you're like me and don't care about quality, then try to sell them. I'm sure there is still a market for them. Just make sure you back up your library on DVDs or a portable drive. You will have far fewer discs to store.

Occasionally, but I always rip any CDs I buy the minute I get home. I had stopped listening to albums all the way through, but the last year I've started doing that again.

Of course. MP3's and iPods are useful, but they sound like shit 99% of the time when compared to CD audio.

I detest the sound of mp3s, they are so harsh & devoid of tonality, funny how Hi Tech has become associated w/ lo fi. I still listen to LPs, an enormous collection of 78s (pretty lo fi, espesh the acoustically recorded 1s, but there's a vibe that comes w/ listening to them), and remastered CDs. MP3s have only 1 redeeming factor IMO, portability & more often than not that ain't enuff 4 me! I like info to read about what I'm listening to as well. I guess someday they'll have that all bundled up and available to view on the player, or as a holographic display, or sent directly into the brain.

Nada Brahma = Sound is God.

I still buy CD's, but immediately rip them to my external hd and listen to them that way when I'm using my computer. I refuse to download music unless an artist authorizes it on their own web site.

Not as much as I use to. But I blame my shitty cd player for that.

A well written album is a snapshot of a band at a certain period of their career and their lives. To only listen to a song or two is really a grave injustice.

I'll never give up listening to complete albums. Most of the time I prefer the "non-hits" anyway.

The problem with MP3s for me is that a lot of times, I just don't want to hear a given song that it jumps to. Then I have to search through my playlist for one I want to listen to, and it's not necessarily easy to find because I have to ask myself: "Am I in the mod for that song?" It's just much easier for me to say - "I'm in the mood for X album." I feel like if you don't download every song on an album, you're sort of missing part of the artistic message.

i still enjoy my cd's, and like to buy new ones at this great record store i frequent often which carries a lot of obscure stuff compared to anywhere else i've seen. i love the quality of cd's over mp3's. i listen to them a bunch in my car, i do a lot of driving. i like listening to the whole album than individual songs. the only songs i download are singles here and there but will never download a full album. i also pick up a lot of my cd's from the shows i go to, so i know the money is going more into the hands of the artist than into the greedy corporations.

I actually went looking to see if there were ANY 8 tracks saved, and was able to find one Beatle 8track.

I still buy cd's of artists that I like or even a new band that I like. I use the my XM and the internet to discover alot of new music but if I find something I like I buy the album if it is possible.

Yes.. and there are certain CD's, where each song seems like the perfect pathway to the next song, and therefore I have to listen in its entirety.

*edit* I wrote that before I scrolled up and read Gvac and Narc's posts. I wholeheartedly agree. For many "albums" to listen to only 1 or 2 songs would be like going to a movie just for the opening and closing credits.
