Share your disappointment stories.Mine would have to be 'Bady Drawn Boy' circa 2002 at Roseland. I really liked his 'About a Boy' soundtrack and 'The Hour of Bewilderbeast' but let me say he sucked so bad live. Granted his music isn't exactly rockin and uplifting but still, he made no effort to acknowledge the crowd. He put no feeling into his songs, which surprised me alot. I only saw him that once so maybe he was just having an 'off' night.

Eric Clapton at the Verizon Center (nee MCI Center) was the worst live show I ever saw.  Lame, lifeless crowd, a string section backing him up on the god-awful "Cocaine" and squandering the great backing band he had by choosing to play his lame-ass pop hits instead of some of his deeper cuts.

I have been contemplating this question and I really cant think of anyone maybe its cause most of the bands I listen to are known as live performers and shitty studio bands. The first time I saw Goldfinger I was very very disappointed they just did not seem to flow together well and it just seemed like crap, it could have been because the sound tech was a complete idiot and you couldnt hear any lyrics or the drums.  The other times I have seen them they were good, so I dont really want to say they sucked live except for that first show. The only other one i can think of that I have seen more then twice and I was disappointed each time was Weezer.

jay z and r.kelly.  i was there when the whole "THEY GOTTA GUN IN THE AUDIENCE" at MSG.  i got the tickets free from my job and i really like R. Kelly.  BIG dissapointment!!!

A few years ago, my friend dragged me to see the All American Rejects (she paid for my ticket...ha!) and it was the most horrific thing.ÿ It was at Birch Hill, and I sat down under the overhanging counter, and waited for awhile.ÿ Then my friend went, "Wanna leave?ÿ This is bad..."  And that's the end of that.ÿ I haven't been to a live show/concert in a long, long time.

The worst concert I have ever been to didn't even happen.  I went to see Guns n Roses in Vancouver 4 or 5 years ago and the show got cancelled.  A riot started in the streets and my trip to see GnR was ruined.  I spent close to a grand on that trip and didn't even see a show.  Axl Rose is a prick.  Fuck him in his stupid ass.

I saw Aerosmith when Bradford and Perry were not with them.The fill in guitarists, Crespo or something and somebody, did their best but the rest of the band just wasn't into it.For you kiddies, this was when Aerosmith was a real rock band, so my expectations were high and my disappointment deep.

Some country cocksucker was playing at the county fair in front of a tent full of fatasses in wranglers and it was assfucking awful. I think it was Brad Paisley or some shit.  Awful.  How does my wife listen to that shit? Just awful.

I went to Hot 97 Summer Jam a few years ago.  It sounded like almost everybody skipped sound check.Busta rhymes went up, and it just sounded like mumbling.  Then the worst of the night was 50 cent.  He sounded like he was high as a motherfucker.  He wasn't even singing.  He had a background track playing his voice, and occasionally he would say something incoherent into the microphone.  He would also scream "Yeah" alot.  It was horrific.The best part was 75% of the audience left after that.  Eninem was the last act.  Eninem was awesome though, as he played to a nearly empty crowd.  I can't believe how good he was live.  So atleast that made up for it.

Kittie at Irving Plaza sucked... Disturbed was opening for them (this was 2001 or 02, during an Ozzfest off-date) and thats why I went. We left two songs into their set.D-12 at Roseland sucked... went to see Kottonmouth Kings open for them, made it through two or so songs and a line from one of 'em, "Who else carries a gun on 'em at all times?" before walking out.  Oh yeah, Eminem wasn't even on the tour.  They played his verses over the sound system.Unloco opening for Korn in Poughkeepsie, they sucked.18 Visions opening for Lostprophets at Webster Hall sucked so bad, a friend of mine and I actually fell asleep on one of the couches in the balcony.Blink-182 & Lo-Fidelty All-Stars (or something?) at one of the old Dysfunctional Family Picnics at Jones Beach. LFAS played one song, their hit, before getting booed off stage. in terms of comedy... I've been to a decent amount of shows, but I distinctly remembering DC Benny sucking. Maybe not sucking, he just didn't make me laugh.

The time I saw Badly Drawn Boy he interacted with the crowd. The show was probably alright, not my kind of thing. Did he have a song in a Gap commerical?

I saw an HFStival with Foo Fighters and Everclear. Both sounded like shit. I did see Foo Fighters later in a smaller place and they were pretty amazing (and I saw them on the DirecTV free thingy playing for thousands of people) so they do better in a smaller venue/got better over time.

I never saw Everclear again, but i've heard from other people and sounds like I saw a typical performance for them.

I watched Everclear open for a Canadian band, Our Lady Peace.  Art bitched the whole show because they were opening for "some no name local band".  They ended up getting booed off the stage partly cuz of the insults and partly because they sucked.

I saw OASIS in Columbia, MD two summers ago and they were easy the worst major act I have ever seen.  Note to self:  When you pick out a band you like to go see, don't choose the ones who like to do the drugs that make them lifeless idiots.  4 doped out idiots on stage not moving and just droning to the shitty music.  eck.

I saw O.A.R. at the Rave in Milwaukee, wow it was really bad. I guess i never listened to o.a.r. more than one song consecutively because every song had the same beat.    I know its not exactly groundbreaking music, but its awfully repetitive.

Mostly a bunch of drunk teenagers at their first show shouting "ramblin man!". They just seem like a tribute band at this point. No disprespect to Trucks whatsoever...saw him with clapton at MSG a few months back and he definetly killed it. Its just not the Allman Brothers Band anymore. I guess Ive been to alot of good shows if the allmans are the first bad act that popped in my head.

Amazingly enough......Iron Maiden!.........TWICE!!!!First time was in '91. It was the last show of the tour (in the states) and they had to get back to the UK fast, because Desert Storm was just starting, and there was all sorts of security. They played quick and they were gone. ANTHRAX opened and were great! Never seen a bad 'thrax show.The last time was when Bruce came back and they were touring the bland "Brave New World" album. I didn't think they would play the WHOLE THING!<img src="http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/annoyed.gif" border="0" /> Only a couple of classics (yet no "Run To The Hills") This time Halford & Queensryche opened. Halford was AMAZING! The crowd was goin' apeshit! Queensryche was pretty good as well.

Underoath sucked. The All American Rejects played tight and it sounded pretty much like their studio releases, but Tyler seemed like ana rrogant douche bag.I never saw them due to my age, but my dad so the doors and said that it was horrible. Besides putting ona  mediocre show, Morrison was a total douche bag to the crowd.

bands i like have a habit of playing with bands i cant fucking standvision used to open for the bouncing souls all the time and thier singer is like one of those jock punk guys thats really into date rape. hot water music- dont like em at all boy sets fire-  dude never shuts up, saw them like 3 times and they ran out of time on thier set each time cus this homo has to explain every song. antiflag- awful band of rich kids from pittsburg, dont understand shit about shit- talking about how everyone in the crowd is gonna get drafted.   both boy sets fire and antiflag draw the most merciless heckling i've ever seen.  its like an old ecw arena show.

I guess Ive been to alot of good shows if the allmans are the first bad act that popped in my head.  you seem to basing it more on the crowd then the actual band though.  I mean yes the crowd does suck, but if I was to base my concert experience on the crowd...DMB has sucked live since 1996 when Crash came out (which technically they have sucked since like 1999-2000 when they decided to no longer do 25 minute jams not like the good ole days in 1993-1994).  and Phish has sucked since after the hiatus then too (which is actually true).  Everytime I have seen ABB I always feel they put on an amazing show.  Any band that does 10-15 shows in a row at the Beacon Theatre and each show is completely different and each is amazing in its own right, will always get my respect.

Fads?! Meh.. btw what does 5kg translate into lbs? My pig was tipping the scales at 48lbs at only 8 mos.. he's now down to about 43lbs because he was getting a little to fat even by pot belly standards. Anyway I don't know about miniature pigs.. but I do hope these kids don't give up on their pigs once the cuteness runs out.

I think that a miniature pig could translate into Moo Shiu pretty easily once it was no longer cute- but if you max out at 5kg/11 lbs, how could it ever stop being cute?I have to go figure out how to smuggle a tiny pig into the country.

2 bands come to mind that I saw several years ago:

The Violent Femmes were awful -- boring and stiff live. I yawned my way
through the concert and I was looking forward to it so much. This was
before they got way overplayed and popular.

The other band was the Screaming Blue Messiahs. I loved their Bikini Red
album and saw them in 87 after it came out. They were so bland and blah
live I couldn't believe it. I didn't listen to that album for months after that
awful concert.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. I caught them at PNC Bank Center in New Jersey last summer and it was the most boring show I've ever seen. Sad, because I really love that band.

eminem on the '99 warped tour.  it was fucking atrocious.  i don't know if its my hate for hip hop/rap or that it only sounds decent out of a studio, but it was unbearable.  i thought my ears were going to start bleeding.

Fucking goddamned Shadows Fall.  I saw them open for Slipknot.  I can't stand them and expected nothing from them and I was still disappointed by their suckiness.  It was only made better by the fact that Lamb of God came on after them and ripped the joint down.

My disapointing live act would be me trying to have sex. I'd like to say when drunk but that is not the case. When I'm drunk I can go forever... more disapointing for me than her because she gets as much as she wants and I just get a messy hog. I don't think I've ever had that glorious session where I could brag about it for months to come. I'm pretty bad a t it really. I guess that's not an issue because morte times than not I get what I intended. I like to have sex though, I try not to have the fact that I cannot find the proper places to insert deter me from my ulitimate goal. I usually use the owner of said place for some insertion signaling. I sure am blabbering, I got off a long day and had some beers and I don't know if it's that or I'm just nervous answering such an important question. I like Pie... Lemon merangue or rihbarb or chocolate or puntang. I like to do things in general.I gotta go, you make me nervous.

It was admittedly an awkward pairing and I was there to see the Hip, and I wasn't a Guster fan to begin with (nor did I hate them or anything). But Guster was absolutely godawful and almost got booed off the stage. In college for Spring Weekend, I went to see They Might Be Giants. It was a fantastic show, like they always put on, but Violent Femmes were set to play next. Their fans were the rudest bunch of assholes ever. They were completely disruptive. But they got their just desserts because apparently only one or two of the Violent Femmes showed up (and it wasn't the lead singer) and while they did the best they could, it still sucked ass.
