<p>Already a thread but to answer your question it's because they are too talented for a position such as that. If the NFL had a rule where they had to have a minimum of 3 imports, one would be punter.</p>

<p>I would bet there is a correlation between the percentage of kids playing soccer to the percentage of a group kicking/punting in the NFL.&nbsp; </p><p>Not alot of black kids are in the suburbs playing soccer...so not alot of black kids are kicking or punting. </p>

I think I'm safe.</p><p>Not a waste of talent, a player out of position.&nbsp; It's a different skill set and you could use Dan Marino, Don Bebe and Tom Brady for that example as well.&nbsp; I'd also say they'd all suck punting just like Owens.&nbsp; There are levels of athletic ability and kicking ability in all races so you can chalk this one up to a simple lack of interest if you ask me.&nbsp; Sort of CJ's point, but a little less caustic.&nbsp; I do agree with CJ though.</p>

Ranall Cunningham was an All-American punter at UNLV. He showed his prowess occasionally and certainly could've been a full-time punter if not a QB.</p>
