This story is infuriating. Even the dirt ball prosecutor admits 10 years is too much. Several years ago Marcus Dixon, a promising black football talent with great grades, headed to Vanderbilt on a football scholarship, was accused of rape after consensual sex with a white girl three years younger than him. The same scenario occurred as the mentioned article.Georgia is a disgrace.

Sex laws in this country are so stupid. People get long prison sentences for shit like this, just wrong.

They should do what Canada and many other countries have done. Create a law that has an age of concent and thats it. If its 16, 17 even 18 then thats it. Oral sex gets you 10 years even though your a teen and only 2 years older? come on.

I feel bad that this guy got caught up being an example. Hopefully there are other avenues he can go to fight the sentance.

I can relate to him though.
His case is the reason the law was changed. For him to still be sitting behing bars is absurd.

I think he was made and example of. The prosecuting attorney is quoted in similar articles saying he could have "teken his medicine" by accepting a plea that would have labled him as a sex offender.

For this same thing to occur one in one state is crazy, but to happen twice in only a few years is ridiculous.

Well, he had a few things going against him. A) He was black B) He was in Georgia C) He was in Georgia D) He was in Georgia. They have a grudge going there against blacks because of 1864/1865. Y'know. When Sherman pretty much plowed a swathe of destruction across Georgia during the Civil War. Guaranteed the guy wouldn't have gotten ten years if he was white.
