I have this TV theme song on tape from the 60's, or maybe early 70's. It's a haunting sound, with whistling. Sounds like it may be a science fiction show, or some kind of scary show. I've asked people after whistling it/hummimg it for them, and no one knows it. I've searched TV Theme websites where you can hear the clips, etc, and no one can pinpoint what show it's from. It haunts me. I know Blowhard is a child of the 50's, 60's, and he's my last hope with such sketchy info, or some other knowledgeable folks on here. It's not the usual suspects like Dark Shadows, Alfred Hitchcock, etc. It must be some obscure show that I must have liked enough as a kid to tape, or at least liked the theme song. Thanks in advance if anyone can come up with it.

No, but thanks. The Andy Griffith show theme wasn't scary, but Aunt Bea sure was.

You aren't talking about "Jack Horkheimer: Star Gazer" are you? It was on PBS (and a couple of other stations). It had this wierd, whistling theme song.

The shows were only a few minutes long and told you what astronomical events were coming up and where to see what stars/planets in the sky. The dude is waaaay overzealous and has the worst toupe in the world.

The beginning of this clip has the end of the show, which gives you a glimpse of Jack Horkheimer and plays the theme.
