hahaha, see, you can put a sam jackson reference here, but you'd be a hack.

Anyway, has anyone ever used the empower system or something similar for their laptops on long flights? I'm getting a new laptop specifically for an upcoming 11 hour plane flight + trip I'm taking, and I wanted to see if there was anything special or anything I needed to buy to protect my computer from frying.

Also, I'd like it if anyone had suggestions for a laptop.

And yes Tom, insert Apple logo here. kthanx.

you will be finue using empower, you can pick up the adapter at the airport duty free shop. BUt check to make sure your seat is going to have it because I thought only 1st and buisness class had it. Maybe on longer flights everyone does.

as for a laptop, I know people always shit on Dell but I have always had great success with them. I just got 2 new HP laptops from work, and they are both very very nice. I think you can find a really nice HP laptop for around 1000 bucks. Just make sure you get 1GB of ram

Fat's Biggest Laptop-On-A-Plane Frustration Is That He Likes To Set The Thing On The Tray Table In Front Of Him. The Problem Is That As Soon As The Bozo In The Seat In Front Of You Tilts His Seat Back, Your Cannot Open Your Laptop All The Way. If You Are Lucky Enough To Not Have Someone Next To You, You Can Use Their Table, And Just Turn The Laptop Sideways To Face You.

This Space/Positioning Problem Is Not An Issue If You Are Lucky Enough To Be Flying First Class!

I buy lenovo laptops. Love 'em. Particularly since they light, powerful and have a keyboard light. Perfect for flying or just dragging around.

If you find an airline with laptop power in coach...let me know

I actually got embarassed watching Sin City on a plane because I was afraid other people could see it (remember, the movie starts with Goldie and Marv in bed)

I had to shut it down and watch Disney's "The Rookie" instead.
