First off, let me say I wasn't sure if I should post this in this forum or if it belogned in the entertainment. I decided this because it includes one of the words int he thread title.

I was watching Brit Hume today, and I have great respect for him as a political commentator. He examines the issues and doesn't seem to go one way or another. I feel he's the best out there.

What say you? Who's your favorite political commentator?

Brit Hume's like a toned down version of O'Reilly in that he tries to present himself as impartial, but he almost always gives it away that he leans right.

I can't believe I'm even about to type it, but one of the most fair guys as far as commentators go is Pat Buchanan...I was absolutely shocked by it, too, because the guy's an absolute lunatic in his personal politics...but he's pretty honest when it comes to commentating as opposed to giving his personal views.

I get my news mostly from the Wall Street Journal and NPR. I know where they're coming from, so I don't have to guess. I probably can't name more than a handful of the talking heads on television.

He's usually on all the talking head shows on MSNBC. He's been against the Iraq war since the start. I certainly don't agree with many of his views, but I think he's the smartest political commentator on those shows.

On another board, I have gotten a lot of mileage out of a number of Buchannon quotes I jotted down from his A Republic, Not an Empire and Where the Right Went Wrong.

One cat who is an interesting commentator is Jay Diamond.
