View Full Version : How Do You Buy A Wii?

I have never bought a game console as close to the release date as we are to the Wii. Usually I wait a year. Now, my mom was thinking of buying one for my sister for her birthday.

How do we find one?

Do they announce when they will release more..or do we just have to keep looking?

I kind of figured we'd be swimming in these things by now.

You enter a radio contest, drink alot of water, and die.

Stores were advertising that they would be getting more today. If they are already sold out then you'll have to wait a while again. Just keep checking the fliers, Toys R Us will usually advertise when they know they'll be receiving some.

They were selling them at my local Best Buy as well this morning. People apparently started showing up around midnight to wait for them. They were not sold out by the time I got there at 11:30.

I didn't sign up for the $1.99 service but I did look for free and checked all day today at work and found a local Circuit City that got a shipment today. So I got one! Thank you.

Until about two hours after I posted this thread on Sunday, I had no clue that these things were not readily available.

I have received some intel regarding the Wii's availability for tomorrow. Rather than posting it publically and ruining my chances of getting one, I'll accept PMs to share the wealth.

Also - to the person who has been texting with me and Liz about a wii hookup this week - it's not your deal, so don't worry, I'm not blowing up your spot... this is something different.

no need to pay, just go to http://wii.findnearby.net/ and see which retailers are getting shipments soon. That's how I found out when Wal-Mart was getting some in. I went early, and had no problems picking one up. I also saw some just sitting on the shelf there and apparently my brother-in-law got one from GameStop on a whim, so the supply situation seems to be improving a bit.

Cosco on Rt 22 had a whole lot of them.. Also Gamestop or EB Games but they sell them very quick, they get them in like every other day so you kinda have to be in the store.. Luck of the draw. i was playing bowling on Wii this weekend & I must say it is very cool.Has any 1 played Wario? yet I am waitng to see if i should get the system yet. i like to base my need to purchase on the Mario games, since I still can not put down The New Super Mario Bro. for DS, even tho I saved the bitch 1000 times already.
