Still feeling my way around this thing....I think the hardware is a lot better than any PC I've ever gotten, but it's the small stuff that I still don't know how to work my way around.˙ The one-button mouse is confusing, especially when I'm trying to watch porn and I can't right click to make the porn full-screen.˙ I'm also adjusting to not using windows programs like media player (porn again) firefox and stuff like that...

Any tips for the Mac newbie on how to do some of the PC basic functions (namely not having right-clicking capabilities?)

I can help you,

Return it and buy a PC!!!

J/K good luck with it. Everytime I have used a friends mac I always want to throw the mouse across the room. I guess you will get used to it. I will stick with my pc. I will be buying a new pc as soon as windows vista comes out in a few more days!!!

they have firefox for MacOS
you need to get two things for your mac:
a two buttoned mouse and Microsoft Office for OSX

Holding the button down and not releasing it is the same as right-clicking, but I agree with Furie.

Get a normal mouse PRONTO!

The Apple mouse sucks.

Also, Safari will not work well with this site at all. Get either Firefox, Camino, or SeaMonkey.

Depending on what kind of Mac you have the two button problem is easy to solve. If you have a new intel macbook you can set the touchpad to respond to two fingers and operate like a two button mouse. When using two fingers you can also scroll.

If it came with a mighty mouse, just click on the right side of it. It'll know what you mean (it's like magic!). I'm not a complete Apple fanboy, but I definitely like my Mac better than any Windows machine I've ever had.

Seamonkey?

SeaMonkey is basically Netscape without all of the AOL add-on crap. It loads fast as hell and still includes mail, composer, etc.

I use it on this board all the time.

It actually causes less problems than Firefox, too.

Software:
Adium - all around IM Client
TextMate - If you want to program, nice texteditor.
Firefox/camino - I like Camino lightweight its between safari and firefox
SixtyForce - N64 emulator...
Virtue - Multiple desktops.
iPodRip - rip music off of the ipod if you used it somewhere else.
http://www.serials.to - serials for textmate, and quicktime.
I cant live without Virtue, it lets you have multiple desktops you can go back and forth with.
I love all the Windows users saying shit about the mac. Might be the Unix underneath that scares them. Or is that I can play BF2 full blast on a 256mb card, somehow I don't need to spend $600 for a video card.
ohh did i mention its 1337 for H4X0r1N6 ?
Edit: Just get a two button mouse, I had to part with my one button because its just fasters with two buttons instead of using the keyboard...

It saves the file as a word doc or spreadsheet in excel form, whatever. I'd rather have M.O. but there's not that huge of a difference as far as i can tell.
