With Championship weekend coming up everyone is talking Peyton vs. Brady and how Peyton deserves to go to a Super Bowl.  I personally think that he's had the teams that could have gone to the super bowl and came up short.  I don't think Peyton should be mentioned with Brady, Elway, Montana, Aikman, Bradshaw, etc.  These QB's got the job done.  Not only with ability but with will.  I figured I would throw it out there and get some thoughts...

Elway and Simms before they won the Superbowl, had the same questions about them (not being able to win the big game).

I keep thinking this will be Peytons year but every year he comes up against Brady.I think this is the year that you can actually say "If they don't do it this year they are done".Harrison wasn't as big an issue as in previous years and even though Wayne stepped up the Colts as a unit are getting older and their time may be passing them by.

ive been saying since the start of the playoffs that the colts were gonna win it all this season. i was basing that on the fact that they were a long shot with very low buzz and i wanted to look smart if it panned out.It sounded like a much crazier notion before the Vinatieri FG game and before the Chargers simply gift wrapped that game for the Pats. Something about this seems like its all staged. im a jets fan rooting for and expecting the pats to win. mannings a douche who cant play big in a big game, hes had what two good playoff games in his career? fuck him and if anyone a betting man the pats are getting points so hop on it. peyton manning meet assante samuelplus i think its easier for me to say my team lost to world champions than my team just lost.

The Colts offense has looked terrible the first two playoff games.  You have to think that the Pats are going to win this game and keep winning until someone proves them wrong and I don't think Peyton will.If he plays like the past two weeks there is no way he will win this game.I can't wait till Peyton is older and retired and him and Marino can hang out with 20 fingers, and none of them being weighed down by clunky rings.

I have seen all the above QBs play except for Bradshaw. Peyton is ability wise far better then Montana, Aikman, and Brady.  Its really not even close. Elway was better in his prime then Manning but remember he didn't win in his prime. He won when he played on a couple great teams. With that said Manning has really been a dog in the playoffs and with that will always come the question "can he win the big one". All he has to do is win the next two games and all that talk will be forgotten. Pats 27Colts 10

I think the NFL would love to have him win it, so would MasterCard and Sprint and eveyone else he humps products for.  I also think that he too will go down the road of Marino, only difference being I doubt he will even play in the SB at all.  I don't have anything against him and actually kind of like him (no homo), but he just does not seem to play well when the pressure is on.  It has happened during his time at Tenn and as well as with the Colts.  The year after he left Tennessee they won the National Title with a very ordinary Tee Martin at QB.  Same team, a QB other than Peyton, and they win it all.  He was 39-6 as a starter in college, set a record for most SEC wins but couldn't win it all when it counted.  Couldn't get past Florida the season it mattered most.  But we are talkin NFL here so let's look at some playoff history.  19-16 home loss to the Titans in 99.  23-17 loss in Miami in 2000.  24-14 loss at the Pats in 03 and 20-3 loss at he Pats in 05.  21-18 last year at home against Pittsburgh when the replay officials and a miracle fumble almost handed him the opportunity to get it done.  Third and two with 30 sec left and he chooses to pass to Wayne that is almost intercepted.  He calls the plays at the line and all that jazz.  Why not run James, get the first two more shots at the endzone or at least get closer for the FG attempt?   Everyone always rails about the Colts lack of Defense, but in each one of the games I cited the record setting phenom couldn't muster up 24 points when it counted?  Peyton Manning at the top of his game is probably one of the best ever to play his position.  But when it counts in the one and your done he seems to come up just abit short.  If tommorrow evening he gets out to a nice lead, say 14 points , then he might put the ghosts to rest.  If he gets in a hole early (see last year Pitt 21-3 late 2nd qtr,) then the dogs of failure will bark once again at his heels.

Well... that answers that question.  But now that brings up the 2nd part... sports talk is giving Manning all this praise now... they say he's turned the corner and has taken the monkey off his back.  ARE PEOPLE CRAZY???  The goal is to WIN the Super Bowl... if he comes up short there it's same old same old.  It's like the Bo-Sox getting past the Yankees to go to the Series... who cared that they beat the Yankees if they lost in the Series???  You got 1 more game to win Peyton... then I'll give you your props.
