I would be willing to bet that most of Ron and Fez listeners are liberals or at least mostly vote Democrat. I wonder if there are any other strong Republican conservatives like me that just can't help but love this show.

Based on the responses in the numerous political threads we have here, there seems to be a very large number of posters that at least lean to the right. Quite a few who would fall under the "Libertarian" umbrella, too. I would assume that that would carry on to the listeners of the show on a larger scale. I think posters and listeners leaning to the left are likely the majority, but probably not by a huge margin. If I had to guess, I'd say the difference was around 60-40.

I voted for "W" the past two elections. But after coming to my senses I was soooo pissed at the Republicans specifically "W" that I voted straight Democratic last November.
Anyone who can read "State of Denial" and still back the president's handling of Iraq is never going to have an open mind on the issue.

Registered Republican, but with a lot of reservations. I wouldn't call myself a libertarian, because I'm pro-life, pro-military, pro-small business, and pro-environment. But I agree with libertarians on the death penalty, taxation, gun control, gay marriage, and overall civil liberties.

I think it depends upon what you mean by conservative because a person can be very conservative in one area of their life, but liberal in others, and consider themselves conservative.

If you mean "socially conservative," then I think that most people here have more moderate to liberal views. By socially conservative, I mean religious more than secular, which leads to more conservative views on religion, sex, entertainment, music, relationships, homosexuals, abortion, etc.

Then I think you have those conservatives who believe in smaller government/less government intrustion in their lives. I think we have a huge number of those here. Now often, your social conservatives think they fit in this camp, but don't, because they want the government to say who can get married to whom, who can have sex with whom, and how they have sex, what can be said or shown on television and the radio, etc.

Then of course there are economic conservatives, who have conservative views on the economy, business, etc..

Now maybe they are people who fit in all three categories, but often people vary with regard to these.

So what do you mean by conservative?

Hmm, I don't know, i guess I mean both types. I would consider myself a strong conservative across the board. And I admitt I am very close minded on many things...I guess comedy is kind of the barrier breaker.

Comedy is the common ground. I've heard a few comics complain about doing shows to a liberal crowd. Often the main complaint is they aren't sure if they're supposed to laugh at the edgey or race material, they're are too uptight. I think Ron and Fez are the perfect show for all sides of the political spectrum.

I find that once you label someone, the process of listening to what an individual has to say breaks down.

Don't get back at one party by voting for the other. That's just a shell game that sustains the two parties. Start voting independent for canidates that you actually think would do a good job. It's not about throwing your vote away because they will never get elected. It seems to me that political change moves very slowly, and votes for real canidates that may not win are the start of this process. Then again, we're doomed as a nation anyway, so who cares?

What we don't have so much anymore is the intolerant extremists of either side. There are plenty of conservatives, (I'd say more than half the board), but the ones who post in politics now keep it civil as do the liberals. Where else can you find a politics forum on the internet that can make that claim? We all deserve credit for that.
