My cousin (who is a proffesional photographer) gave me an old Mac of his. It's a G3 w/ OS 9.2. I'm excited to play around with it, especially since it has a full version of Photoshop 7 loaded on it. I know virtually nothing about Mac, so here's my question.

Do Macs use much smaller hard drives than PC's? It only has a 6 gig drive, which on a PC, would be next to nothing. Is this a decent size for a MAC?

Harddrive size is univeral, regardless of the OS. If you can jump the processor to a G4, and up to OSX, you'll have a blast.

OSX is great for music and pictures!

How much cash am I looking at HotTub? I'm guessing the reason he had such a small HD is because he only used it for photography, and probably stored his finished work on an external drive. I have a lot of fun with Elements 3 on my PC, but the idea of getting into Photoshop 7 is intriguing.

it doesn't have a 6 gig HD because it's a mac, it had a 6 gig HD because it's 10 years old!
It has to be one of the old G3 iMacs (the one's jeff goldblum was pushing for a while there).

OS9, not much software out for that anymore. kind of like working off of Windows 98

You'll have a blast poking around on the Mac, but that is an ancient computer.

OS 9 is pretty much like Latin; a dead language.

And my iMac has a 160 gig HD.

My old one had a 6 and that was average back then.
