who should know better decide

My dad had throat cancer and
had his larnyx removed when I
was a wee tot of the age of 5
(yes, he actually used that
thing that made him sound like
a robot until he realized it
scared me as a child so he
stopped). Now if THAT'S not
reason enough to smoke then I
don't know what is!

My father died of smoking related throat cancer, and I would never consider blaming the tobacco companies. The person smoking the cigarettes knows what the consequences are. Its like suing an alcohol company if you have liver cancer. These companies are just trying to make money. Ain't nothing wrong with that. Its the consumers choice to use the product.

Anyone who takes up smoking and get ill from it has no one to blame but themselves.

Then again, isn't this the frightening trend in America lately? Blamed everyone but never accept personal responsibility. Eventually smoking will be blamed on Maryln Manson and video games.
