View Full Version : What is the heaviest song ever
Bob Impact

<p>We got into a discussion at work the other day about what exactly the heaviest metal song ever performed was. Now of course there are different genres to consider, and heavy may vary depending upon who is judging it, but the short list we came up with is:</p><p>Pantera - Domination</p><p>Lamb of God - 11th Hour</p><p>Slipknot - Eeyore</p><p>Six Feet Under - Warmachine (KISS Cover) </p>

I'm sure Crowbar has a lot of heavy songs but I never got all that into them, every song I've ever heard from them sound like every song I've ever heard from them.

I am sorry, the thread is not what heavy song do you like a lot, it's what is the heaviest song ever. Thus Crowbar must be in the discussion, whether all their songs sound the same or not.

Just stumbled across this thread on a search. I can't believe I didn't post this, which contains what is often referrred to as "the heaviest riff ever written" (listen to the whole song to appreciate the guitar track in it's entirety:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/AAIg9rlZzkw&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/AAIg9rlZzkw&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
I don't necessarily agree that it is the heaviest guitar riff ever written, but it definitely rips. I think I like Life of Agony's cover a little better.
And wtf happened to all the metal fans on this board?

Sorry, no official video for this song. Fear Factory's last few albums leave much to be desired but I pay respects to them with my favorite song by them.

I agree about their newer stuff without Cazares; not a fan. But Demanufacture was a landmark album. Herrera's drumming was unbelievable. The remix album Remanufature which Rhys Fulber produced was also an amazing example of a successful fusion of Metal and Industrial. I used to bump that shit in my white trash combo (bad car/good subwoofer).

Just stumbled across this thread on a search. I can't believe I didn't post this, which contains what is often referrred to as "the heaviest riff ever written" (listen to the whole song to appreciate the guitar track in it's entirety:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/AAIg9rlZzkw&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/AAIg9rlZzkw&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Beautiful.
And along the same "beauty in simplicity" vein:
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JkVyrMGxyKs&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/JkVyrMGxyKs&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
"Heavy" for a different reason entirely:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5QtxMJ2SbEo&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5QtxMJ2SbEo&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Pure loveliness:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1yCQhX4ks4k&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1yCQhX4ks4k&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
And the best guitar riff ever written by the hands of humankind:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/S6CNRPXaiYA&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/S6CNRPXaiYA&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
If I had to go with one, I would have to go with "Into The Void".
No other guitar/bass deliciousness reaches into my soul and makes me tremble quite like that.
