I've read about 12-14 King books in my life, still love "It" the best.

Old Stephen King books are definately better than the newer ones.

The Stand, The Shining, and It are books that I have read and re-read over the years.

I haven't gotten tired of them yet.

I eventually get to all of his books, but I usually wait and pick them up as used paperbacks now.

I was on a Stephen King kick last summer that was jumpstarted by that awful tv movie 'Desperation'. I read 'Desperation', 'The Talisman', 'Black House', and 'The Gunslinger'. I intend to continue with the Dark Tower series, but just got King'd out for a few months. Before that I read:

It

The Shining

Bag of Bones

Some book of short stories, forget their names. Shawshank is in it. And 'On Writing', though I've read maybe 5% of the book so far. Love the man and his writing. Family thinks he's evil, which makes it all the more attractive to me.

The only ones I've read are Cujo and Salem's Lot. Both are really good imo.

Bag of Bones is my most recent favorite, it seems complete. I loved "IT" (I think the scariest book he wrote) and "The Stand" but I think both slump towards the end. Although that may be because I enjoyed them so much that the ends could only be a bit of a let down.

I think his short stories are great. I think he is at his best in that type of format.

With that said, The Stand and It were pretty damn good. I have been disappointed with the stuff he has put out in the last 10 years though.

Could he have the record for the author who has had the most movies made based on his work ?

Has anyone ever made a decent film adaptation of his stuff? I would say Kubrick, but The Shining is one of the few King books that I didn't read.

And that Lennon Murder Truth jag lives in my area. He's got a big van with all kinds of his propaganda all over it. The guy is an ass-handed shitlover.
