Ok, radiohead is by far a band I can't get enough of. My question is this. If they are the most popular band in the worls, why does no one in my area know who they are? Its insane, they either don't know them or they are "not into them". Am I missing something here?

radiohead bores me. if i was going to listen to something while i slit my wrists, i would probably put it on.

Radiohead is good in small dosages. And some of their stuff sucks.

Radiohead is God. I listen to them possibly more than any other band, I can't get enough of them. They're definitely the most talented writers I would say of my generation. I know too many people who feel the same way.

Maybe people in Jersey are just Philistines.

I haven't seen that many bands live that I can honestly say was worth the money I had to pay. These guys were worth every goddamned cent and more. And they also seem like really down to earth guys in pretty much everything I've read about them and at the concert where I saw them.

Radioheads music really grew on me. Most of their songs just get better with each listen (imo). If you've only listened to Creep/Pablo Honey, give them another chance. That song and that CD probably impressed me the least. If you're a Pink Floyd fan you might give Kid A a listen.

If you don't absolutely despise them, I'd encourage anyone to see them LIVE. I didn't consider myself a 'fan' until I saw their live act. They've toured/tour ALOT. I've seen them six times and every single time they deliver, they really appreciate their fans and give you more than your money's worth. I cannot say enough!

My only Radiohead regrets:

Back in 2003 I was going to see them for Field Day in Calverton in the open air but due to beauracratic red tape it wound up being moved to Giants Stadium and even though they didn't disappoint, Giants Stadium just wasn't the best venue to see their act.

Same year MTV was doing their $2 bill thing at the Beacon, I waited on line for 2 days and got squat! That was the biggest clusterfuck, should've known not to trust anything MTV puts together.

Their Bends CD is my favorite album. I have a friend who despises Radiohead and often poses the question "If Tool and Radiohead killed each other off, who wins? EVERYBODY!!!". Oh well. He's still my buddy, but those are some creative differences. Haven't much cared for most things after Paranoid Android tho. Listened to 'em for the first time while in the UK, so I felt welcome to embrace the music, I guess.

Out of the good british bands that got only one or two songs played in america, i thought blur should have gotten more respect. They only got no. 2 played, and they had fantastic albums. Radiohead was solid and it got a bunch of critical acclaim and still does, but there were a ton of bands that got overlooked and underplayed. Oasis, Ash, Reef, Morcheeba, Travis, Elastica, Portishead, Massive Attack, Bluetones too... I cry not for Radiohead.

I've listened to all of these bands (some more than others). Some of them are good (Portishead, Morcheeba, Massive Attack). Some of them are just okay (Oasis). Some of them flat out suck (Travis....what were you thinking??). NONE of them are nearly on the level of Radiohead in terms of how influential and groundbreaking their music is.

I bought my first radiohead CD in a Tower Records on Picadilly Square. (18 pounds for Pablo Honey- you thought you got ripped off at Tower in America!) I walked out the store and two guys grabbed each other's unit and tongued in front of me. Just thought I'd share that, since it's semi-related to Radiohead.
