I still love the elm street movies NOT just the first one, ALL of them!!!!

1- good, original
2- scary as hell , some decent gore, cool FX
3-lots of fantasy
4- HUGE on 80's music , clothing and culture
5- very dark
6-good FX, lots of freddy wisecracks
AND 7- new, big budget, odd.

I dont think they will make any more though because number seven pretty much wrapped up the series well.

*friday the 13th movies SUCK

when Freddy started to focus more on the wisecracks than on the murder, it sucked. It turned him into a joke. The series isn't GREAT or even good horror or gorey but it's definitely fun to watch because it's bad.

I didn't mean he was about the horror and I liked the wisecracks when it came occasionally but by Freddy's Dead he was basically slapstick.

Freddy 2 suffered because it didn't follow the other flicks and didn't have Heather Lagenkamp. Freddy 3 followed a progression since it was the continuing story of Heather Lagenkamp. Also seeing Patricia Arquette in a padded cell is hot. (I think Freddy 3 might have been my favorite when I went through the horror phase we all went through when we were 12, 13.)

I can say this about Nightmare, you can definitely tell the difference between movies. Someone says a number you know the plot, you know the death. With Friday the 13th they are all the same in the woods and only if you think of the rest of them you can place them (off hand I know the difference between 1, 6, 7, 8 and 9) and can probably put 2,3,4,5 'together' if I think about it.

I remember hearing a
rumor that a freddy VS
jason from friday the 13
movie was in the early
stages a few years back.
but it probably ended up like
the Alien VS Predator idea.

F V J has actually been greenlighitng and apparently the guy who directed Blade is directing it. For horror fans I can see how it can be fun but seriously, for some reason I don't think that a Freddy V. Jason movie would really go along with the rest of the series. They've gone through a few scripts already and I think just now they said yes to one.
