<p>i fancy myself a pretty smart guy when it comes to comptuers, i used to work the I.T. field for a few years until it got to the point where they were paying jack and shit for too many hours of work.</p><p> </p><p>anyyyyyyway. i bought this here new nec dvd burner for my desktop. </p><p> </p><p>i have hard drives on ide channel one, one set to master one to slave.</p><p>on ide channel 2 i have the burner as the master, and another Hd as slave.</p><p> </p><p>ive run a million systems like this no problem. it sees the dvd drive, reads, but when i put blank media in, every program says no media present? i click burn in nero, and it hits eject and tells me to put a blank disc in. </p><p> </p><p>wtf? did i get a bad burner, do i need to upgrade firmware (or the rare option here) are my blank dvds and cds not compatible. i dont use cheap-o's like 354 discs for 11 dollars. </p><p> </p><p>any advice would be appreciated.</p><p>thanks. </p>
