Reason #35 why I suck

My wife's ipod (second generation) has been slowly dying over the past year or so. the only problem was the battery. i wasn't holding a charge anymore. A couple of hours but that's all. Since I have the XM MyFi and use my newer ipod mini less than she used her's, we switched.

Well, last week, this thing finally shit the bed. the battery would not hold a charge. So I ordered a battery off of the internet and tried to replace the old battery myself. I thought i had done a fine job, it turned on and charged up ok. But when i went to use it today, no sound. I must have severed some connection when i put it back together. I figured it out almost instantly. one little connector right under the phone jack.

They don't call me thunder hands McGaw for nothing, because when i tried to re connect the top part of the ipod, i pushed a little too hard. snapped the motherboard in half. right under the screen.

But hey, at least my wife has an idea of what to get me for Valintine's day or my birthday; and i have a spar hard drive and battery.

The question now is:

Which Ipod do I get?

<p>I'm a 60Gb man myself, but that just works for me.&nbsp; Your choice really depends&nbsp;on:</p><p>- how much you want to put on it</p><p>- whether you want to watch video on it</p><p>- how important it is to have a smaller player</p><p>- battery life may be an issue as well.&nbsp; It was my understanding that the bigger ipod has a better battery and has abetter battery life, but I may be wrong.&nbsp; I know the 60Gb (which is slightly thicker) has better battery life than the 30Gb.</p>

I would say dont buy an ipod. Buy a zune or better yet buy a creative zen mp3 player. I just purchased a 40gb creative. If I dont like it I'm sending it back and getting a gigabeat.

I had an iRiver for a few years and really liked it. I just got a 30G Zune for Christmas. Its great. Fuck Ipods. Get a Zune.

I tell you, almost EVERYBODY I talk to about the iPod complaines about the battery.&nbsp; Why cant Apple figure out batteries?&nbsp; Its the same complaint over and over again since these things came out, you'd think they would have solved it by now..<br />

i'm not getting a zune or any other mp3 player (good call back toocute), since i have a mac.
From what i've read, the battery problem has gotten better. but i don't know for sure.
