there is a problem with the hosting company and the server or something... I really dont understand all the technical issues of what happened but Uncle Inky is working on getting it fixed...

its a holiday so we had to wake some of the resting people from the hosting company... it may take a bit but it will be fixed...

no one did anything to the site... we didnt shut down... just a technical problem that unfortunately came on a day when everyone is on vacation...

Here's what's going on as I'm being told.</p><p>There is a problem with Davies.com, the hosting site. That's the shark emblem that keeps popping up. Many of their sites are currently down. For example, both FBA and Inky's other site, CityStyleGirls are down. Clearly, this person did not complain about both.</p><p>And also, the reason that the site is taking so long to come up is because it is a holiday. This is exactly the reason that LC's claim is clearly fraudulent. If they can't get the site up because it's a holiday, why would they take the site down on a holiday? The assumption was that he had someone do a DDoS attack, but then that was ruled out as the server problem was investigated.</p><p>Now, LC is here on an unrelated site saying that he took it down by filing a complaint. This is also able to be proved false by investigation, as I demonstrated in my last post.</p><p>However, this individual has now claimed twice on two different forums and in two different ways to having &quot;taken down FBA&quot;. They are investigating this claim, as they should. Should it be done here? Of course not, but this is where LC came and I guess they followed him. Perhaps he might be asked to leave?</p><p>But if he has done something illegal, such as a DDoS attack or potentially some other less obvious but more insiduous attack, perhaps on the hosting site itself (where the problem seems to be located) then BAM and FBA&nbsp;are completely justified in wanting to get to the bottom of it, I think.</p>

So, while your contention is correct that that can happen, in this situation the facts support the idea that it did not happen.</p><p>Also, had this individual had grounds for a threat complaint, that is as you say a very serious matter. He should have taken it, I think, to a higher authority than a server provider. There are boards on the Internet where the most vile form of insult and verbal injury are permissable within very broad limits, known as &quot;flame sites&quot;. FBA is not a flame sight, but does share some of the passion for the First Amendment that those reprehensible boards exhibit so distastefully. The hosters of those boards do not pull them, some of those sites have membership rolls larger than Wackbag. Why now would they pull FBA for a complaint? If it is for the severity of the infraction, and again I don't know what infraction LC is hinting at and wonder if he does himself, then more than just the hosting company would be involved. They would have reported illegal speech to the proper authorites. <p>Actually, I guess what I should have said was &quot;Why did we continue to talk about this after the FBA guys told us it was a simple server error?&quot;</p><p>I understand there's cross-posters from other boards so talking about it being down here and on Wackbag makes sense.&nbsp; I also understand that someone said they brought down FBA so they wanted to clarify.&nbsp; That's all well and good.</p><p>The extra drama is stupid now and has spawned side arguments.</p><p>I run our band's website and I deal with server problems from time to time.&nbsp; It's not uncommon and it's almost always some simple thing like a setting someone didn't set right.</p>

Okay, as a mod on FBA and having helped Inky work on this all day I'm probably qualified enough to let everyone know it was most certainly <strong>not </strong>a DDoS attack or a TOS violation.&nbsp; Sometime in the very early morning hours there was a hardware failure on the box that is still not entirely resolved.&nbsp; More info should be available tommorow and will likely be posted on the page up on fullblownaids.com now.

Even then they don't actively advertise that it's available. </p>

considering they're running a message board that changes every few minutes, they should have their database backed up atleast daily. it would be idiotic if they weren't
