not to be funny but your in the coast guard? Why are they sending the coast guard to Iraq its bordered by sand?

And arent you in your 50's why would they reactivate you if your over 35 or 40?

Good luck bro be safe and good luck. The only thing I would say is contact your commanding officer and see if this is some sort of a mistake. When I enlisted in the Navy back in 1990 I was in deps and whenever something came up I would just call another officer that I trusted to ask questions.

Happy Birthday to me....I got word today that although most of my unit is being activated.....I don't have to go...and I'll be permitted to retire on March 31.....I was kind of looking forward to it....but I have to face facts....I'm too fucking old to do that shit anymore....My Captain pulled some strings in Washington and they will recognize my years of service and grant me my retirement....it's kind of sad!!!

This may answer some questions as to why they recalled you.Bush in Iran?
I'm glad you don't have to go.

ASSIGNING a Navy avia tor and combat veteran to oversee our military operations in the Persian Gulf makes perfect sense when seen as a preparatory step for striking Iran's nuclear-weapons facilities - if that becomes necessary.

Damn Reeshy, you are one interesting motherfucker. Your determination in life is really admirable, I'm sure glad your not going though. You've given more to this country than probably anyone else on this board. What a fucked up feeling that must have been to think that you might serve in two foreign wars, I wonder how many guys are over there right now that also served in Vietnam?
