the food network rocks!

i think that if i had cable, that is one of the few channels i would watch all day long.

i used to watch "ready, set, cook" on the food network. has that show been cancelled? i haven't seen it in a longtime.

oh, and i've only seen the iron chef twice, but it's definitely one of the best cooking shows i've ever seen. seriously.

the iron chef and the two fat ladies.

emeril sucks.

I also hate emeril.
The best 3 shows on fn are:
Snacks Unwrapped
Iron CHef
Anything with bobby flay, he's sexy and he cooks, does it get better?

I personally think that Good Eats is the best show. Iron Chef is a close second.

I saw an episode of East Meets West recently that had the regular host and his guest...Morimoto of the Iron Chef Competition! Morimoto EMBARASSED him, it was quite enjoyable. I'm sure the host committed hara-kiri that night.

I was always partial to "Two Fat Ladies" back in the day. Everything was wrapped in bacon, even chocolates.

Two fats ruled (anyone who
uses as much lard, butter
and streaky bacon HAS to
rule) and Good Eats is
great too.

The Naked Chef is hot ! And
Bobby Flay is just sooo cool

BUT Iron Chef is still the
BEST!!! Fukui-san - GO!

I'm sure the host
committed hara-kiri that
night.
Perhaps, except Ming Tsai
isn't Japanese :)

The food network is actually good even if you don't cook much like me. I have to admit that I was addicted to the Iron Chef show. I think I knew I had a problem when I watched almost of the episodes for the Iron Chef marathon. The only show I really don't like is Emeril. I am glad that his show failed on NBC.

I loved Emeril in his very
early days... thefirst time I
saw him I thought he ruled -
before I even found out
anything about him I already
guessed that he was from the
RI/MA area and had gone to
Johnson and Wales, no two ways
about it with THAT accent -
but then when he started just
BAMming everytihng and
throwing a bulb of gahlic in
everything... and a LIVE
BAND?? man he is just a fat

HOO-RAY!!!!! I really thought I was alone on this. I LOVE IRON CHEF. I bought the book and read it in three days. I got to meet Morimoto last month at Chef Central on Rt. 17, Paramus.

My second fanorite is Good Eats. I used to think Alton Brown was a dork, but now I know he is a dork. But that is the appeal of the show, plus I have learned some good lessons from him. My chick likes to cook and she got me hooked on the show.

YIPPE! For FoodTV

Big Blue that is scary I was actually there also but I left early since the place was too packed. Got there a half hour early but I don't think I would of have been able to see a thing where I was.

FN has a lot of good shows, but my faves are Molto Mario and Iron Chef. Mario Batali is great to watch if you love Italian food, even if he does drown everything he cooks in extra virgin olive oil.

Iron Chef is the best! There's no other show out there like it. Morimoto is GOD, even though Sakai seems to pull off the most wins.

Allez Cuisine!!!

I CAN'T STAND Molto Mario.
That show drives me crazy!!
and then there's that other
guy whose name I forget,
but once he did an entire
show on watermelons. And
all he did was have different
watermelons, slice them,
takes a bite, and go "Mmm!
This one's really sweet!"
and then at the end he
dropped a melon off of a
ladder to show how to get at
the seedless heart of the
melon. That guy bothers
me. Not as much as Mario
and Emeril do, though.

And Ming Tsai, though I did
the stuff that he cooks, and
though he's pretty hot for an
asian guy, I don't like the
way he talks and describes
what he's doing.
EVERYTHING he does is
'nice and <something>'.
You do this until it's nice
and brown. We do this until
it has a nice, <something>
taste. We're going to make
a nice, <something>
<dish>. Bleah!

I actually checked out that Good Eats show prior to the Iron Chef last night and damn that guy knows alot about corn and makes a hot lookin' cornbread. I gotta say that show us now one of my favorites... kinda like adding a little spice to the convensional and dropping a little Bill Nye to the mix.

sorry to be late replying to this topic, but since i'm giving up my career in film production and applying to the culinary insistute of the arts (CIA) i had to.

I loved Emeril in his very

that so dead on about emeril he blown all credabilty. his old show essence -not the new one, but old one they still rerun - was a great show. but i have to say he has really helped build the network into what it is today. they have come a long way from having downtown julie brown as a host.

also have to agree that mario is annoying, i really admire his respect for the history and culture of the food though. the dishes as well as his restaurants here in the city are amazing.

yes bobby can cook, and he cute, but from everything i hear he is a total dick.

but by far the best show is good eats. its like the seinfeld of the food network, the way he take one ingredient and breaks it down.

i love tvfn. it's the only station that has such great shows as iron chef, emril live, and food finds. i can't watch molto mario, my italian teacher from last year ruined the show for me. he would have some one from the class to tape it so he and most of the people in my class could yell at the tape every time mario made a mistake pronouncing something

see ya, diane

se7en, i'd hate to correct you but there is no such thing as italian food, because in italy the people of the different regions each have what they like to eat, so no one type of food is eat-en universally throughout the country. pizza is from napoli. italian don't use olive oil in everything and there is no such thing as breaded food.
