What's more fun than annoying people by yelling "OH-BAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!"?

I'd mostly be curious to see who he would pick to work around him if he was elected to president. He's not the most experienced candidate around politically, but if he picks the right staff he could be a very interesting choice.

While I understand why so much of the world hates us right now, I'd love to have a president where I could hurl back, "Yeah?!? Well, our guy is black AND his middle name is 'Hussein!' NOW SHUT IT."

I picked Obama. Tho It would be fun to see Bill gettin into trouble again in DC.

The idea of "First Gentleman" Bill Clinton would be fun. But despite that I picked Obama. When I hear old white people talk about Obama you get the feeling that he will definitely be President at some point, although I'm not too sure that point is 2008.

I voted for Obama for one reason only - Republicans don't know how to play fair in Washington anymore. And I'm having second thoughts now.

(Using broad generalizations, I know) Republican hatred of Clinton is driven by: 1. their hatred of liberals and democrats which is stronger than their belief in their own system of values; 2. the radicalization of conservatism since the overturn of the fairness doctrine; 3. the eight year smear campaign launched against Bill that deeply hampered his ability to conduct his own foreign policies; 4. the democrats' inability to adapt to the change in conservative dogma and tactics leaving the personal attacks and unsubstantiated smear campaigns the most effective tool in the republican arsenal.

I think part of the reason Obama is crushing in this poll is that the democrats feel they need to find someone who can avoid much of the attacks more than fight back. Democrats have adapted to being victims. It's Hillary's history that dems feel is her biggest liability. But it's not a history of what she's done wrong that's handicapping her, it's a history of conservative attacks and the fact that they've been ingrained so much in the mind of conservatives. I've been asking conservatives for years "What has Hillary ACTUALLY DONE to earn your hatred?" I've never gotten an answer based on facts. It's simply a response to the drumbeat of insults hurled at her from right-wing media since she first became First Lady. There may be the occasional reference to her work on universal healthcare. But that really only merits respectful disagreement. Other than that, I'm convinced that there is no substance to the hatred - simply the aknowledgement that the hatred is a strong political currency that the republicans would hold if she were to become the democratic candidate for president someday. I've accepted that as reality for a long time.

However, I'm having second thoughts about this political truism. I've thought since after the 2000 election that the dems need to go on offense in order to counter the success of republican attacks in campaigns. I've said before that they will be losers until their balls finally drop. The truth is, Hillary's got bigger balls than just about anyone in the Senate. She's a tough bitch. She's also a smart bitch. The things that are said about her on Fox News and talk radio and the OP/ED pages I've never seen said to her face. Honestly, I think her colleagues know she'll fuck you up if you do. That's the kind of respect that the Bush adminsitration earned: the respect that they will punish you if you cross them. That's the respect that was communicated to me when staffers from powerful republicans who were freaked out by what the Bush administration was doing in Iraq told me that their bosses were not going to speak out because they were not willing to cross the administration. They were not going to cross Karl Rove. It's not the kind of respect I think we ideally want or need in a president. But it's what we vote for. And I think it's the only thing that will get the dems out of their losing streak, (and by losing streak I don't mean a long streak - I mean getting beat by an unbelievably weak candidate like Bush -twice).

Basically, I think if Kerry had turned to Bush after one of his rediculously stupid comments and pulled the curtain back and said "You're an idiot." he could have won. I think all Americans wanted to see were some balls. He showed them his cooch and they voted for Rove.

Same mistake Gore made. And they both made it because the dems are still wedded to this old consensus approach to politics. Kerry had about 15 core advisors in his campaign. Bush had one. Kerry tried to get good people on his team and get them to write out their policy

I'm appalled people still want to be proud of thier race because of it. But if that's the angle it takes to get a minority into an office...

doing a bit of research i ran across this my new favorite stat that im shoving in everyone face for the next two years until obamas is on the ticket.

people's biggest serious detraction of obama is that hes too much of a novice to really be considered for president (anyone who has that big of a hangup over his name seriously need to think about maturing), in response i say Abraham Lincoln!!!!!!!!!!

he served in the house for less than 2 years, before being president. thats it thats all. obama is sitting int he senate which is considered the 'upper' house, and hes done it for two years. so fuck all that 'inexperienced' crap people. obama for president.

and i know im not one who usually likes to tout for lincoln considering you can still see the stains from when he took a shit on the constitution, but america loves him for some reason so i use him in my argument.

oh and one last correlation they both represented illinois.

I would never vote for a black guy or a bitch for president. Rudy Giuliani all the way!

His being unknown in non-Washington circles is a good thing. He's not considered part of the good ol' boys network, thus he isn't part of the problem. Plus that lack of a national record doesn't include things like voting for a war that is very unpopular.

2. He talks like a good Kennedy. He speaks in grandiose terms and plays to the middle while voting to the left. You actually get inspired by the guy and want to give a shit about our government. How long has it been since a politician made you care?

But then again, that's why the establishment will try to stop him. If he runs, Obama vs. Hillary could be a blood bath.

I'll probably vote Republican unless we fall on our dicks again and nominate some dummy like "macaca" man Allen. (I am so glad he lost-what a fucktard!)

If that catastrophe happens, then it's OBAMA all the way!
