I know they kind of discussed this on the show a couple days ago, but I'm wondering where everyone stands.

Here's the thing with me...I like giving people gifts but I hate being TOLD I have to give gifts on a certain day...I also hate people feeling obligated to give me one.

I think it's even worse for me this year because I took a holiday job in a store to make a little extra cash and it's just repulsive how some of these people are in terms of what they spend, and equating 'having a good Christmas' to how much stuff they buy/receive.

Now, the one thing I do dig about the holidays, is getting together with people who are just in town for a couple weeks who I haven't seen in a while which is pretty cool, but overall, I'd say I'm pretty anti-Christmas, at least in the sense that Christmas is portrayed in the mainstream.

That said, I completely understand the point-of-view someone like ESD has where he was talking about enjoying and getting caught up in the whole 'out in the crowded mall, with the stores decorated, and the Christmas music playing etc.' scene.

It's just not something I'm into.

I am pro christmas for the family get together and celebration/gift giving part. I do not celebrate it for any religious purpose.

Taking the Christ outta Christmas this year. And that leaves me with "mas". Which means more. More presents more shopping more ads more food more days off more drinking more everything.

Can everyone else please start taking the Christ out of Christmas?!?!

I love christmas and the christmas (or holiday) season, and I think now in this day and age it can be seen either as a christian holiday or as a secular one, and no one should have any problem. What's wrong with everyone feeling nicer and nostalgic for a few weeks a year? I'm an atheist so I don't care about the birth of the chirst child, but I honestly think all the good things about what christmas is all about can be spread around to everyone.

I enjoy christmas, but i also wouldn't mind keeping my restaurant open. there might be a revolt if i did that. we don't give eachother gifts, that whole thing just annoys us.

I don't mind Christmas, but I don't think it should be as big a commercial deal as it has grown to be. Gift giving sucks. Its a fuggin gimmic that we have all fallen for. It has gotten way away from holding a lot of religious meaning any more unless you make an effort to make it so. The thing the I hate most about Christmas is having to travel 750+ miles to see relatives. I am just over it after all these years. I want to just have fuggin Christmas at home in my boxers with a bottle of Seven and a six pack of Corona.

i'm anti every holiday but it's hard to do that when you a g/f thats the complete opposite

she loves the holidays and cant wait to decorate the apt when its time, i mean no one else we know lives near us family wise and we rarely have people over so no one will ever see it yet she still goes all out

to me all holidays are pointless hallmark holidays, they totally lost their original meaning and its now just a reason to give or receive gifts

its just another day to me regardless of what holiday it may be, now growing up i loved holidays but only b/c it meant no school and gifts but now as an adult you dont get off from work as much as you used to for school

so that reason is out the window and you don't get excited about new underwear and socks as you did when you were a kid hoping to see that bike or nintendo under tree

now this may all change if/ when i have kids but as of now holidays mean nothing to me

I'm really digging Christmas this year. I'm really enjoying using Santa as a boogey man to try and get my kids to nice and not naughty.

I like spending time with friends and (certain) family members.

I detest the stress of shopping for gifts for a million different people so I've told everyone I'm only buying for the children in the family. Whoever doesn't like it can kiss my 'Tis the season ass.
