DSL is, but will i notice a huge drop in speed? in your experience is satellite even worth considering? does weather affect satellite internet?

DSL is slower than cable, but it's still pretty good.

My boss got satellite. It cost a fortune and it was as slow as dial up.

Life without cable broadband is not life , however DSL is second best option. Satellite internet is effected by weather I hear, and sometimes the speed is equivalent to dial-up depending on location. If slicing your wrists turns you off...get DSL.

First go find out what kind of DSL speeds you will be able to get, that will help a bit. I have 3.0 Mbps DSL and it rocks. Verizon also gives you unlimited bandwidth so I can't complain at all.

Also, isn't satellite only 1 way or did they figure out a way to do two way? Last time I looked into it (years?) you still needed a modem to dial into their servers to upload stuff.

FiOS is a whole different world. If you can get that then do, it's the next level of interneting.
