<p>I was in my company's dining room getting lunch today. As I was walking out, I saw someone sitting at a table, looking at me, grinning at me ear to ear. </p><p>"Jeff?" I thought to myself. It looked so much like him, I had actually stopped and started to walk over to his table, wondering what he was doing here.</p><p> </p><p>Then I saw what he was wearing - a kitchen apron and a nametag. Our company has a work program with the local special needs school. The eye contact and the grin wasn't because he knew me and was surprising me at work; the eye contact and the grin was because he was a functioning autistic.</p><p>I had also done some research about autism... does anyone know anything about asperger's syndrome?</p><p> </p>

i work with children with autism and aspergers.......i took the day off today to go to the doctors office and while I was there I picked up the most recent Newsweek and the cover story is a 6 page article on autism. People have no idea how much this disorder is on the rise, it's getting scary......and there's no known cause or cure. several kids i work with do the whole work program thing tenbats, so I know what you're talking about.
