I'd never heard of this band before they played on Opie and Anthony recently.  The song "Sideways" got stuck in my head, and I got some other songs by them and I totally am loving it!  Thoughts?

Thoughts? you mean byhim right? its only one person.  I first heard him on scrubs and thought it was okay but nothing special, lots of other better singer/songwriters out there that get no major play and blow him away.

I went to see Cope last night at the Nokia Theatre. I also saw him in September at Hammerstein. Plus Bonnaroo of 2004. He's been one of my favorite artists for a couple years now, amazing music.  PhishHead, Cope is one guy but he plays with a band.

I listen to WFUV a lot and they feature some of his music.  I really like it and am thinking about getting his latest cd.

Colin Hay? Matt Nathanson? Glen Philips?

Oh, please don't turn it into a comparison just because someone is into something new. Everytime I bring up a new band in front of my dad he has to remind me that they will never be The Beatles.  Well thanks DAD, i know that!

Well thanks DAD, i know that!   im not turning it into a comparison and the question was not posed to you,it was posed to thegame, because him and i frequently agree on music and I was surprised he said he liked Cope so thats why i was questioning him.

PhishHead, yea I do think his stuff is amazing but it just comes down to the simple "different strokes for different folks" cliche. He's really just floored me during his live appearences. Funny thing about Cope was when my sister first handed me his CD over 2 years ago she told me, "you gotta hear this guy, you'll love him, he's awesome." I played the CD 3 times and after the 3rd time i just wanted to break it and throw it out my window. Then I went to Bonnaroo in '04 (maybe it was '05) and decided to give him one last shot, his live show blew my mind and I knew I had found a new favorite artist. So it took me a while to dig him, but now that I do I know I'll never go back. Shelle, another good song in case you're looking is "Brother Lee" off his new album "Every Waking Moment".

Clarence Greenwood is his name, and I dig this guy in a big way. I haven't seen him live yet, but will be making my way the next time he's in Philly. Bullet and a Target is a fucking great song.
