They were illegal in the US, but they aren't illegal everywhere and baseball is a world wide game now, not just a US one. </p>

I can't be certain though, because he was a "player-manager" for a while. I am not just like this with Rose though ... I think half the people in the HOF don't belong there. I think that the hall should be a much more exclusive club. I think Pete Rose is insanely over-rated as a player, and I wouldn't let McGuire or Bonds sniff the HOF.</p>
