View Full Version : Winter Has Been Cancelled

As much as I'm a guy who loves the warm weather and dreads the winter months, this is officially horrifying. Day after day, I wake up and it seems it's warmer than the last. I am the last person to want winter weather, but I think it's about fucking time. I've been saying "Any day now, it's gonna kick in... You watch, it's coming..." But I just went to NY1.com, only to find this:

I don't know what to say.

it's a good time to decorate outside for x-mas if you do it. i have to admit it just doesn't feel right. i just think about the savings on fuel or electricity. you can keep the heat off all day and just turn it up a bit at night or not turn it on at all and throw on an extra blanket

There's usually that first frost... even as early as mid-October... At some point between October and January, it snows at some point. But it's been in the 50's and 60's for the last 3 months, give or take a handful of days. I hate the cold... but I'm just sayin'... This shit's kinda zany.
Some ass took a baseball bat to our mailbox last night so I was happy for the warm day today. It made replacing it that much easier.

But I have to say we really did "make lemonade" today in the beautiful afternoon sun. The mailbox reno turned out slightly crooked and the end product is just a bit wobbly. Also I still have to get new numbers for the box. But during the "reconstruction" we were cracking each other up so much it was like the Whos singing Ba Hoo Bor Ay after the Grinch took all their presents.

Well, it took till January 18th (the longest in recorded history), but it has finally snowed in New York. Looks and feels like winter is here. A couple months late, but here nevertheless. Now I'll be able to appreciate Spring and Summer, whenever they decide to show up.

i hope you are happy. not only did i have to put my shorts away for the season but i had to freeze at work the last two days. not all of us work in a climate controlled office. think of poor Bobby pants out there in the cold delievering your mail, think of me building a store for you to shop in while the heating units get installed 4 days before the opening.

It's finally snowing for the first time this year, here. It's only about half an inch, but it's still snowing strong. I start driving at 6PM. I love driving in the snow!
