I went to a jesuit university and when they expanded the dorms on campus they built a bunch at once. They spent a lot of money decorating each building with nice artwork and sculptures on the outside to give them character and make them a visual representation of the jesuit community, but the last building they built was just about done and they ran out of money.

Then the contractor had an amazing idea to give the building it's own symbolism without costing the university any money at all. They raised bricks along the outside of the building to represent the notes of a gregorian chant. The resident jesuit (I lived there) in my building knew the song by heart and would sing it from time to time. He tried to teach us one day when we were outside sitting on the stairs, and I knew it for a while, but I've forgotten it now.

I thought it was pretty cool.

i used to have trouble sleeping. I'd pop a cd of gregorian chants in and drif off to sleep.
