Lot's of old country songs ( ala Johnny Cash, Hank Williams etc..) are about fighting, fucking, drinking and getting fucked up on all sorts of different drugs. I can dig that.

I don't know what country music's about, it's pretty much all my sister listens to and I can't stand it when I'm in her car. There are two country singers I can listen to: Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson.

It's about money...or rather, making music suitable for 16-year old girls and/or 8th grade level divorced housewives (in the words of Houston Marchman)....Nashville has put out nothing but absolute garbage for about the last 10 years, and as a result, i've checked out of the mainstream scene almost entirely  Ive become a fan of the stuff thats coming out of Austin, and ive even drifted farther into bluegrass....Nashville is dead to me

Country music is great.  Highway 16 on XM is one of my favorite stations, it's number 7 on my first bunch of pre-sets.I'm sitting here right now playing the new Rascal Flatts cd nice a loud, it's really good.<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whNTPAnGF2M">Here's a video!</a> That song is a bunch of months old but it's still getting a lot of air time on the radio. Hooray for country music.
