I'm a huge DVD collector, and I was reading Entertainment Weekly's recent issue listing the best DVD Boxed sets coming out. I'm definitely getting the Superman Ultimate Collection Set. It has all of the Christopher Reeve Superman movies, including Richard Donner's Cut of Superman II which EW said was the best part of the DVD, and is better than the original Superman II, Superman Returns, a George Reeve Superman movie, 17 Fleischer Studio Superman cartoons, and a host of extras all for $100.

I'm also very tempted by the complete series of Homicide: Life on the Street. 122 episodes on 35 discs. However, its $300.

Anybody else eyeing these or other DVD boxed sets for the holidays?

I've been watching the BSG box sets, finished them this weekend.

I didn't know what was in the Superman set, but I did want the Donner Superman. I have the extended Superman 1 that came out a few years ago but didn't bother with the other ones. And really, only the first two Reeves movies are worth watching. But the Fleisher cartoons are great as well.

That Homicide box set is pissing me the fuck off. As a fan, I was buying the seasons when they started coming out years ago...shit, $300 would get you only the first 3-4. Now you can get all 7 seasons for $300, and in an awesome file cabinet box? Man, fuck that. Such a dick move to the diehards.

'Fuck DVD' -Kevin Smith

Anyway, the Mel Brooks DVD Box Set eagerly awaits:

Blazing Saddles
Young Frankenstein
Silent Movie
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
To Be or Not to Be
History of the World, Part 1
The 12 Chairs
High Anxiety

That's a pretty good collection, many box sets just piss you off with one or two good ones then pieces of shit the actor/director might want to forget.

The Bond Sets look nice but dont go chronologically so you have to get the Pierce along with Sean.

I'm a sucker for animated show seasons like DBZ, Home Movies, South Park, ATHF, Venture Brothers, The Tick, Voltron, Transformers, Family Guy, See Lab, Brak and many more. They all fucking rock!

I just bought the Honeymooners.

I have Pee Wee's Playhouse Box Set.

Star Wars

Mark Bros.

I hear that the Three Stooges are releasing ALL 190 episodes next year. There are at least 60 that are unreleased and I haven't even seen them! Mostly Bessers and some Shemps.

I completed the Three's Company set.

Working on Curb Your Enthusiasm and Benny Hill.

Clint Eastwood looks enticing as does the Little Rascals.

I've got the first 5 Homicide seasons on DVD. It kinda bothers me that it's all coming out for $300 now but I'm certainly glad that I didn't wait until now to get them all. What an amazing show.
