So, I've been trying to figure this shit out for like an hour now. How does one go about creating a PDF file?

If you don't have the actual Acrobat Distiller, give the one a try. Really is free, and my clients say it works.

If it works, email me the pdf. I'll read it.

It depends what application you're trying to create a pdf from. For example,
Microsoft Word has an option to "Save as pdf" when you're in the print
dialog box.
