They've looked AWESOME so far...I really like the mix they have of young talent (Vasquez, Hayes) and the older players (Mike Jones, Ibekwe, DJ). I LOVE what Vasquez brings off the bench with his energy and shooting, and Hayes runs the point very well for a Frosh

I've noticed already theyre FAR superior athletically to last year's team, which mean's they can run Gary's press and run teams off the floor just like in the past. He's said he wants to run 4 guards out there from time to time, and they certainly have the athletes to do that

And no one's talking about them either...which will change soon if they keep playing as well as they have

I fuckin hate Duke. Every year they get at least one game given to them by the refs. I don't think it's a conspiracy or anything, but it's ridiculous. They should be tournament bound if they can go 8-8 in the conference with a marquee non-conference win over Florida. That was all they were lacking last year, a marquee non-conference win. That doesn't explain why Air Force got in over them, not that I'm still bitter over it.Al Thornton is well on his way to all-ACC 1st team honors.My other team, Hawaii, sucks. Too bad Riley Wallace is going out with such a disappoiting season.

Mudo,Big showdown tonight between my Seminoles and your Terps. To call it a "must-win" for the Seminoles might be a tad dramatic, but realistically it is. As we both know, you can ill afford to drop home games in the ACC, much less against teams that are also fighting for a tournament birth.FSU is favored by 3. I'll take a one point win. I assume the game is on locally in addition to ESPN full court?

That's complete shit ohio st. is going to be number 1.  Wisonsin kicked their shit in, and they only made it slightly close at the end.   Wisc. has 2 more wins, 1 less loss.  Beaten 3 ranked teams to 1.   I guess they are looking at quality losses?

ON WISCONSIN!!!!!   I know a number 1 ranking doesn't mean crap in college basketball in the middle of the regular season, but its huge for the program.  They don't get the best recruits by any means, it's really the system and the coaches that do such a great job.   Bo Ryan is my favorite coach, Wisconsin got so lucky as he was an instate coach at UWM.  Bruce Pearl who came after Bo Ryan at UWM wasn't too bad of a coach either.  It's nice to see Wisc. get some well deserved respect!

The high-water mark was the victory over Maryland in late January and it has been all downhill since then other than the win against NC State on Saturday.Mudo, tell me that my Noles still have a shot at the tournament if they win at Miami and can win one game in the ACC tournament. You are an ardent ACC supporter and know how good, top to bottom, that the conference has been this year. Tell me! You can at least make a case for the Seminoles at 7-9 in ACC play (and some work in the ACC tourney), but 6-10 is not going to cut it. Wins at Duke and over Florida will resonate, but the computer numbers remain questionable. Beyond Florida, FSU thrashed bubble buddy Providence, but there's not a ton beyond those two games that will help. They didn't show well in big-time opportunities against Pitt and Wisconsin (before the Florida win).*** Looking at the fact that the best they can finish is 7-9, their RPI is near 50, and they really don't have too many marquee wins outside of the conference, its going to be tough for them to get in as an at-large...I think if they get to the ACC tournament final, then you can maybe make a case for them.  Maryland had a MUCH better resume last year, and did not make the tournament.   The ACC IS a really good conference this year....the last time I checked the conference RPI was Number 2 (behind the Pac-10 I believe).  There really are no nights off in the conference, especially since there have been a lot of upsets where bottom tier teams (NC State, who is not that bad, they just didn't have Atsur for 12 games, beating UNC and Miami beating MD and Virginia) The problem is, at least some believe it to be, is that because most of the selection committee this year is composed of mid-major representatives, they will be more inclined to pick mid-major middlings (like last years George Mason for example, which still boggles my mind as to why they were picked as an at large) than a big conference middling as an at large. [quote]FSU's best hope is that the mid-majors that are supposed to win their conference tournaments win them and don't take up any mor

FSU 67 - Clemson 66An important win for FSU, crippling loss for Clemson. It gives FSU a CHANCE at the NCAA and should end Clemson's hopes.It would be a crime if Al Thornton never plays in a NCAA tournament game. A win over UNC would clinch it, IMO.

Yeah...I thought Capel still coached there....shows how much I know  For one thing, i'm not all that bummed out...for one thing, we are pretty much a lock for the tourney, and we can never beat Miami anyway, so it REALLY wasn't that much of a shock...plus, they had to crash after winning 7 in a row, and im glad it came now.  And Duke lost today too, which makes me feel much better  But again, I AM bummed out in a way, cause to me, in a lot of ways, I'd rather win the ACC Tournament than the NCAA Tournament.  Call me old school, but winning the ACC Tournament to me is the ulitmate barometer of a great great season.  For me, it siginifies the ulimate triumph of defeat over Tobacco Road, which signfies everything evil.  Even back when Lefty was our coach, he always said he wanted to take the ACC Tournament trophy, put it on the front of his car and drive it up and down Tobacco Road   And to go out this way?  It just sucks.  Plus, I don't like leaving things in the hands of the committee....not after last year. This does bring up an interesting, interesting situation:  Should Duke still get an at large?  They finished 8-9 in the ACC, have lost a ton of games in a row, and didn't go anywhere in the Tournament. Our resume last year at MD was MUCH better than Duke's this year  .

Agreed on the over hyping of Duke.  They will get in, no doubt and probably be blessed with a 4 or 5 seed to boot, why, well because the committee as well as network TV is up their ass.Maryland is in.  I think a good showing in the ACC tourny would have produced a better seed in the big dance, but they are in - no lower than a 5 seed in my opinion (to clarify I feel that is the worst they will receive).This year is wide open.  There are no clear cut dominant teams, so really it is anyone's game.  Kansas is playing very well, with a ton of talent.  The tournament is such a crap shoot, as exciting as it is, the best team does not always prevail.

Looks like GW is going to make the Dance...good for them..they had a pretty difficult season... It also makes the A-10 a 2 bid league, which hurts some of the big conference middlings Also, to-morrow's ACC Final is NC/NC State...now if NC State wins, that could mean nine teams from the ACC make the tournament...that'd be every team except Wake, Miami, and Clemson assuming FSU and G-Tech get at-larges (both are bubble babies right now, but G-Tech's resume looks good, as does FSU's).  This is a league that last year got four bids in toto (which was a joke)  Unbelieveable...also, I don't really buy the Winthrop hype...we played them earlier in the season and handled them pretty easily

Wisc and Ohio State pretty much fucked up the rest of the big 10.  Should be a huge game tomorrow.  If wisc wins I think there is a good chance both are number one seeds.  Should be another great game.

Don't buy into the UNC hype...they're not that good I don't really buy into the Winthrop hype either, but theyve got a good first round matchup with Notre Dame Nothing really surprised me as far as the selections go except for Syracuse...I would have put them in over Illinois, or Purdue...Drexel shouldn't have got in over Old Dominion, as the committee corrected last year's awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful George Mason selection These matchups will be a bitch to pick though...I do plan on taking Va Commonwealth over Duke (as I picked Northwestern State over Iowa last year), and I do plan on picking Virginia to go far (love their guards) I'll let everyone keep sleeping on my Terps....just wait...

Well, Grinnell's gimmick was a little different in that they intentionally played no defense...they wanted you to come down and get a 2 as quickly as possible, so they could immdiately run down to the other end and try a 3...insanity... I think they do that now at VMI too...and they ALMOST won the Big South
