I understand why everyone hates Long Island because it is difficult to get to from somewhere else. I love it here and I think it is primarily because I do not have to pay tolls to drive and I can make lefts whenever I want, and there are some amazing houses here and history of wealth. Westchester is very much like LI, but there does not seem the ease of shopping. I hate traffic, and avoid like the plague any mall like Roosevelt Field or Hempstead Tpke. Jersey is nice and pretty and all, but I loathe driving down the Belt and then through Staten Island to get to it. If they could make a bridge from the South Shore, over Jones Beach across the water to Jersey, Id be happy, or even a tunnell, even if I was in it for an hour, I wouldnt care. I hate the jug handles and inability to make U turns. To me it is way too regulated. It is scenic and has many great features and food too though.
I hate going into Manhattan, its too difficult too.
