I've gotta be honest - I tried Coldstone for the first time last week and was completely unimpressed with their chocolate ice cream. It was as bland and flavorless as no name brands.

I'm not big on condiments (nuts, M&Ms, whipped cream, etc.) for my ice cream and I was very disappointed after all the rave reviews I heard.

You HAVE to try the cake batter ice cream....ummmmmm cake batter. Im drooling over here. Im not a big fan of candies, or nuts in my ice cream either, but I like to get the cake batter ice cream with thier whipped cream. Thier whipped cream is different its really thick and sweet. Anyone else know what Im talking about?

That combo sends me into orgasm.

what? I am an emotional eater, what can I say...I get depressed or upset and I go right to the food!!

Agree with Gaia on the Cake batter. I like sweet things, but I don't like overly rich deserts. Cake batter isn't overly sweet, and has a different texture that holds toppings so well, and she is SPOT ON about the REAL whip cream that they use. It's not some B.S. cool whip or stuff in a can, it's REAL whipped cream.

That's why I like the bananas in it.. Birthday cake remix, not too much fudge, some fruit... it's like a banana split with a different ice cream. So good.

Starvin.

It seems that Cold Stone took the "cold stone / marble slab" formula, marketed it a lot better, and became a bit more popular.

Anyway, I'll be at Cold Stone tonight partaking in the sale goodness. Damn deals like this.

Guess what? Even more buy one get one free stuff to get fat on.
Now, I'll have to try this place even though the closest one is 20 minutes away. I believe the closest thing we have near my house is Maggie Moo's. It sounds similar from the descriptions I've heard here.
