I just cant believe out of a 10 year period, Livin' on a prayer can be ranked as the best song of the 80's.  im sorry but i think Billy Jean by Michael Jackson is a much better song than Livin' on a Prayer.  Im not saying it should be #1 but there are thousands of songs that can top Bon Jovi anyday.

If you are talking about the 100 biggest pop songs of the 80's I have no problem with it.That song was huge. It really pushed bad hair metal to the forefront. remember that Dial MTV (TRL of its day) or whatever it was called...  that song had to be number one for a solid 4 - 6 months. Do I like it... no... but I don't really like pop music... so who am I to judge..  any half ass coverband plays that in 2006 and the place always erupts so it does have some staying power...

I'll give it it's props... mostly because I'm a Jersey boy.  Any Thanksgiving eve it's going to be played and when the "Whoa-ho living on a prayer..." part come the DJ lowers the sound and a bar full of drunks tries to sing it.  That makes it O.K. in my book.
