I just cant believe out of a 10 year period, Livin' on a prayer can be ranked as the best song of the 80's.

im sorry but i think Billy Jean by Michael Jackson is a much better song than Livin' on a Prayer. Im not saying it should be #1 but there are thousands of songs that can top Bon Jovi anyday.

Its not the best song, but you have to admit, it has the best synthesized riff EVER---and they use it at like every local car racing track for feature music

Hell no it isn't the best song of the 80's! It isn't even the best song on that album!

Here is what I would add: (it would take much too long to get in to what I would bump down or flat out remove)

XTC - Dear God

Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Two Tribes

M.A.R.R.S. - Pump Up The Volume

LL Cool J - I'm The Type Of Guy

Depeche Mode - People Are People

Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls

Love & Rockets - So Alive

Tina muthafuckin Turner - Private Dancer

Neneh Cherry - Buffalo Stance

Cutting Crew - I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight

(and some Canadian ones that few of you will care about such as...) :P

Gowan - Strange Animal

Blue Rodeo - Diamond Mine

Glass Tiger - Someday

Kim Mitchel - Patio Lanterns

Grapes of Wrath - All The Things I Wasn't

And anything by Bryan Adams pretty much

But I digress. Lists are stupid, Bon Jovi sucks, and long live Fez!

If you are talking about the 100 biggest pop songs of the 80's I have no problem with it.

That song was huge. It really pushed bad hair metal to the forefront. remember that Dial MTV (TRL of its day) or whatever it was called... that song had to be number one for a solid 4 - 6 months.

Do I like it... no... but I don't really like pop music... so who am I to judge.. any half ass coverband plays that in 2006 and the place always erupts so it does have some staying power...

I'll give it it's props... mostly because I'm a Jersey boy. Any Thanksgiving eve it's going to be played and when the "Whoa-ho living on a prayer..." part come the DJ lowers the sound and a bar full of drunks tries to sing it. That makes it O.K. in my book.
