Not a huge huge fan, but I always get "I'm on Fire" stuck in my head. Hey little girl, is your daddy home? Did he go away and leave you all alone?
Immanuel Kant was a real piss-ant who was very rarely stable.
Heideggar, Heideggar was a boozy beggar who could think you under the table.
David Hume could out-consume Wilhelm Freidrich Hegel.
And Whittgenstein was a beery swine who was just as sloshed as Schlegel.
There's nothing Nieizsche couldn't teach 'ya 'bout the raising of the wrist.
Socrates, himself, was permanently pissed.
John Stewart Mill, of his own free will, after half a pint of shanty was particularly ill.
Plato, they say, could stick it away, half a crate of whiskey every day!
Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle,
And Hobbes was fond of his Dram.
And Rene Descartes was a drunken fart:
"I drink, therefore I am."
Yes, Socrates himself is particularly missed;
A lovely little thinker, but a bugger when he's pissed.

Did you read that article?
He's only selling a greatest hits package that most Springsteen fans already have. Bruce has put out 2 greatest hits package (Greatest Hits and the Essential) so the Wal-Mart thing is just a way to get his music to people who may not have heard his stuff before.
The new album is being sold by everyone. Calm down.

Jungleland is quite possibly one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I love that.
Also - I'll throw in E Street Shuffle, but live versions, not the album version. Album version has too much of a disco 70's feel to it.
I was just listening to E Street Radio and they were doing a version of "You Sexy Thing" by Hot Chocolate. Must get more information.

Disagree with you about "Dancing in the Dark". This song was written during the final stages of recording "Born in the U.S.A." and his producer kept bugging him to write a "hit". I will agree that the song is very shallow as far as the sound is concerned (ex.--the synthesizers are a bit too much). However, the lyrics are simple but its the simplicity that makes them beautiful in expressing his frustrations during the recording of the album. Try to find a live, acoustic, recording of the song without the frivolous musical adornment. You might just change your opinion of the song. Cheers!

On the last couple of tours, they've toned down the synths and turned it into a really nice power pop tune. Check out the Live in Barcelona DVD for an example.

Darkness on the edge of town.
Some folks are born into a good life,
Other folks get it anyway, anyhow,
I lost my money and I lost my wife,
Them things don't seem to matter much to me now.
Tonight I'll be on that hill 'cause I can't stop,
I'll be on that hill with everything I got,
Lives on the line where dreams are found and lost,
I'll be there on time and I'll pay the cost,
For wanting things that can only be found
In the darkness on the edge of town.
God damn. I could listen to the song on loop forever without it getting boring. I'd sing this verse as loud as I can every time.
The other really good ones are:
Adam raised a cain
streets of fire
racing
and rosalita live from 75.
