MARKETING does not equal good computer. Bright colors and a cubic cpu case does not equal good computer.

i've always found those commercials quirky and pretty funny i'm not a pc user, and have no desire for anything apple relatedi even enjoyed the best week ever spoof over the summer

It's not really a lambasting.  It's just a review of the commercial.  They point out some of the positives of the commercial and ultimately give it a C+.

And Slate is usually linked through msn and msnbc, so I think
they're pretty close with Microsoft.
