I recently received a hand written letter in the mail from The church of Scientology.  thing is it wasn't for me, just my address, and i opened it.  But i have a letter written on their letterhead, and some brochures, and an envelope i assume that i stuff money into for enlightenment.   Wierd is all.  I think they are freaks, but i was wondering can i post some of the brochure, and the kinda News paper type stuff. I also wanted to post the logo from their letter head, but is this not allowed (or a good idea)?

Why wouldnt it be allowed?  Maybe if it had someones name and address or whatever..

Hmmmm, good question.  I loathe this sham cult with a passion, but they do have a growing reputation for setting loose their attack dogs on seemingly plain ol' web sites that talk smack about them or try to "expose" them.  I'll defer to the mother mods and especially the admins to make the call, but I think it would be OK.  This is the "unofficial official" message board of a national radio show...how could they expect to shut us up with that kind of outlet?Fuckin' freaks.

Actually, I found the answer about posting the stuff they sent Empulse...sadly, it's a negative.We can talk all the shit we want, but specifically in regard to posting their literature, no, we definitely do not want to do that.  Suing people for reproducing their copyrighted literature and documents without their permission is their most common loophole for suing websites that they're pissed at.<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology_versus_the_Internet" target="_blank">Wikipedia has a good summary of how often they're willing to do this over some lowly bullshit.</a>I know it sounds ridiculous, but they have no problem setting loose their VERY expensive army of lawyers on piddling websites that post their copyrighted "secrets" and literature.Empulse, thanks for asking first.Guys, tool away on them.  We just can't post their copyrighted materials on a public forum.

I've watched the stuff they've done online for over 10 years now...No posting any copyrighted anything from Scientology.  I guarentee they wouldn't be afraid to sue the board, the show and xm radio if they felt like it.  If there's another site out there with the info, you're welcome to link to it, but  I really don't want to deal with their lawyers.

I'm currently seeding the movie "The Bridge", which is an independant film that was recently removed from the original website due to this "church" badgering the director. I thought it was a pretty good movie and it deserves to be seen, therefore I'm going to seed for as long as humanly possible. If you want to see it, PM me an email address and I'll send you the torrent. It was really hard trying to find a good working torrent link for this film, they really don't want anyone to see it.A good site for debunking this "religion" is Operation Clambake.
