My brother just emailed me a photo of the jack-o-lantern he did this year.
He always does really good ones, but I particularly liked tihs one, in light of
what happened to my grandfather a few days ago.

Here's his picture (stolen from the Columbia website)

Posted it in another thread - but yes, he fell, smooshed in his forehead, and
he's got a metal plate in there. Still recovering; hard to get news because it
happened while he was vacationing in Japan with my grandmother. She
came back today I think (for her chemo - liver cancer) but I haven't spoken
to her yet. I am very close with my maternal grandparents; I literally saw
them every day growing up since I grew up in the same apartment building.
My grandmother still frequently gives me rides to/from work when she's
dropping off my grandfather (he still works 6-7 days a week).

At any rate, in this case, no news is good news I guess - his brain was
intact, so assuming that he doesn't get any infections, he should recover
just fine, from what I hear - but still...

I'm sorry to hear that, TC. My best wishes go out to you and your grandparents.
