I have to travel down to Charm City for a wedding this weekend. The hotel that was recommended was 100 bucks a night before taxes, and because I'm a procrastinator, it was sold out.

So I fired up Hotwire and got a price of 90 bucks total. Not bad. Didn't buy though - wanted to test my options.

Then I did my research - and found a couple of really awesome sites with bidding strategies - and managed to get a room for 58 bucks on Priceline.

ROCK.

I'm debating, at that price, to try and get a second night.

For a couple of family trips to California I Hotwired it and saved quite a bit. Though I did get stuck in a smoking room once. I've never tried Priceline but may give it a shot next time.

I use orbitz combined with the airlines site. Sometimes Ive found flights on orbitz and then found a cheaper price so the same flight on the carrier's website.

But yeah, orbitz seems to the best imo.

The few times I've been to Priceline line or Hotwire, I managed to find better deals elsewhere so I check the prcies there but very rarely book through them.

I booked through Orbitz once and found a better deal on Travelocity later. Luckily, Orbitz gave me a mulligan and I was able to cancel the reservations and was only responsible for the booking fee.

Lately, I've mostly used Travelocity or booked directly through the airline's or hotel's website. I've also used Expedia and Orbitz in the past with good results.

What the hell is Charm City?

Anyway, I used priceline a lot back in the day. I used to use the name your price section, not the new scetion that has prices ready for you.
