I will give you what I want it for and you tell me which system best suits my needs.

I sold my PS2 in '03 and haven't really played video games since.
The game I played most on that system was High Heat.
I mainly want a system to play a new baseball game and to watch DVDs.
If the PSP is an option, I can buy a standalone DVD player. No big deal.
And yes, I would hook the PSP to my TV.

Graphics aren't that important to me but I do want to play Franchise mode, probably for years at a time. I want to manage minor leagues, draft, all that bullshit.

Internet connectivity is not that important to me.
Blue-Ray isn't that important either, but it would be nice.

Now, what system do I need?
Keep in mind, the more money I save on this the better because I also want to buy a motorcycle. A cheap motorcycle. Saving a couple hundred here could make both possible.

you can get the sounds on the comp, save them to the PS3 and put them into the game if you want.

You might want to try buying a new usb wire (is that what it's called?). I thought my controller died, but I got a new usb and it works fine now.

And just go online and start to enter a game. if it doesnt have the right roster it will tell you you need to download the online one and should start automatically.

and guys will only be in the game if they are licensed with the MLBPA. I dont know if they will add guys licensed later but like Stroudsberg isnt in the game right now

I think I got a completely different ending. Jaden died because I didn't think to connect the gas receipts to the map. Madison saved Ethan from Shelby shooting him. They fought up some construction equipment and I didn't have a choice in it, Shelby just died.

There are lots of places that you can fuck up. And you can fuck it up so bad that everyone dies and Shelby gets away with it. Jaden can die at the hands of the big black guy, creepy doctor can kill Madison, etc.

Tried to play Heavy Rain but it kept freezing up at the crime scene while trying to id some clues with the glasses. I restarted 5 times and played up to that point and it would freeze again. Glad I have Gamefly - sent that bastard right back.

Unfortunately that was a very buggy game and it locked up for a lot of people. I had it lock a couple of times but I was able to restart and get through it without problems. One weird problem I had was:

I was trying to escape Shelby's flaming apartment. I got into the living room and was suddenly unable to open any doors. When I walked up to the them the QTE never appeared. I couldn't go back either so I was stuck in a tiny box with no escape. I walked into fire until the place exploded.

Can't..once you open the plastic, you can only get a replacement. I have the first one on PC, but did not have the PS3 then.

ok i read about it again from Game Informer.....instead of using the shoulder buttons as modifiers like in TS3, TS4 will reconfigure the racket actions to the face buttons....holding the button down will power up the shot while tapping it will allow for quicker returns with less power. a power meter will appear when holding down the button and releasing it with perfect timing in the proverbial sweet spot will allow you to get full power and control out of your shot.

thats pretty much how it was anyway. the only time i ever used R2 to add power was on serves. otherwise I would just start loading up as soon as the ball headed back toward me and put the power on it from holding the button

i really got the shapshooter in anticipation of the release of the latest incarnation of socom for the PS3. the beta should be available to D/L on the 15th if you got the code included with KZ3. can't fucking wait for that shit!

Yeah i got Killzone 2 and took it back a day after. The controlls were so unresponsive compared to something like black ops. It was really unbearable.

I just lost 2 days of my life playing mass effect 2. I bought it when it came out a few months ago and played it a few hours and thought meh. I decided to give it another shot while I am waiting for mlb the show to get here. Well something just clicked and I was hooked. I haven't been that into a game since when I still played wow, but luckily this one ends.

What a sweet ass game. I usually think that those kind of story telling games are for the gays but this one was really interesting. I even found myself doing extra missions and going for trophies. I could see myself coming back after a break and going for more.

Good news that mass effect 3 is coming out for ps3 and 360 at the same time. I never played the first one though, so glad I picked this one up. I recommend it for anyone that wants to get lost in a game.

Well back to reality, at least I have a ton of good shit on the DVR from the past couple days!

The specific cause of the issue was not identified but there have been widespread reports of PSN users being unable to sign in. When attempting to do so, many are receiving an 80710A06 error preventing PSN access, meaning no online play or PlayStation Store access. That's especially frustrating news for gamers who may have picked up SOCOM 4 (http://www.1up.com/games/ps3/socom-4) or Mortal Kombat (http://www.1up.com/games/ps3/mortal-kombat) earlier this week and are looking to play either of them online.
It's unclear if this downtime is related to the attacks promised (http://www.1up.com/news/hacker-group-anonymous-launches-attack-sony) by hacker group Anonymous earlier this month.

I got it back, it broke 3 weeks after service warranty. so i bitched about it until they agreed to fix it free. sent it back. it broke again INSIDE the service warranty. they fixed it free and sent me a new controller (woo) for my troubles. I had one issue with it, I sent it back and got it fixed right away. And then I spent $35 to upgrade it to a 300gb HD.

its not just this. i had 3 PS2's stop reading discs. Ive now had 2 PS3 stop reading discs, and now one that just shuts off when it feels like it. i think its just some bad luck with me. I have a friend who has the original shiny PS3, he plays it every night after work for at least half hour, and he has had the thing for like 4 years and it works fine. everyone else I know the systems work fine for at least a couple years.

the parts are anchored to the bottom if you lay it flat. It shouldnt really matter but technically, standing it up, the parts are all hanging on the screws. flat, they are just laying on the bottom like "normal"

it would have zero effect on the physical blue ray drive to stand it up, but the HD and maybe some minor shit can fuck up

after you do the update the PSN still isn't available but you can change your password and you can see which of your friends are online.

Honestly, I'm failing to see the appeal of LBP. What exactly is supposed to be so great about this that it got rave reviews? Granted, I'm only in the beginning, but so far it just feels like a child's game.

Little big planet is ok. It is their version of Mario. It is playable and with the add on worlds you can download for free you can play it a lot. It is a kid type game.

I can't wait for next Assassin's creed..coming out in November...CAN'T WAIT

Infamous is absolutely fantastic. I am hooked. The network going down was the best thing that ever happened.

One part of this that has saddened me is seeing how many people missed the incredible Infamous. It is such a great game. It's the only game that hooked me long enough to get a Platinum Trophy.

its not big persay. You just need a chip that makes it load the game without the proper coding. Its not expensive or really that hard, just voids the warranty cause you have to open the machine

Nice! I love it. I like the little details, such as the score board graphics for teams look like the actual ones from each stadium. You can also have the camera be like how when you watch a game on tv and the camera will reflect how it is in real life, since each team's camera angle is different.
