This is our shop cat Knuckles. He's great. Not sure how old he is because we just took him in. He was dumpster diving behind the business I work at. The vet said he's probably about 2 by the wear on his teeth.

This is our family cat, Katherine. She's probably about 12 now, I forget. Adopted her from a house my uncle used to live at.
this is my dog murphy. the biggest golden retriever i have ever seen. about 125 pounds, not fat, just a think, muscular dog. he lives at my mom's house in the country because i dont have enough room at my apt. in the city to give him room to run around. he has had some tough times as of late. murphy has had torn tendons in each of his back knees which have required surgery, so he doesn't have the same pop in his step like he used to. he loves running through the woods and swimming in the pond. best dog ive ever had.

http://img234.imageshack.us/img234/6464/im000464dm2.jpg

this one he is chasing me through a field on an atv.

http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/9906/im000492rf2.jpg

http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/8043/im000470xl3.jpg

Li you're so lukcy that you have such a photogenic dog. Hmmm, maybe that's the wrong word. He sits so well for photos. Pip holds her pose until right before the acutal picture snaps and she moves and ruins them.

And OTIS. His eyes! I need him!

Here is Budday who is now sometimes called Fartley. I took him in from my landlady 2 and a half months ago. She had taken him off the street because he was not surviving out there. She said he she always see him beaten up and skinny and in trees. Then she saw him with a broken tail and that was it. She already had a few cats and one more was a bit much for her so he's came to live with me. He's great. I know why he wouldn't survive outside, he doesn't have a mean bone in him. And this is how he sleeps.

In this neo-hippy wonderland where tiny towns actually spend money to make signs proclaiming their status as nuclear-weapon-free-zones, I saw a mutant three-eared jackrabbit. At first, I thought that the poor bastard had been wounded and had one ear split down the middle, but as it ran right across the road, it seemed to be an actual double ear on one side. One of the more surreal things I've seen, second to UFOs over the Yucatan.

Our dog Pig, seen above, loves to sneak down to our pond, avoiding the butting heads of our goats and sheep, and swim in that mess. It's kind of a Beverly Hillbillys thing where black, viscous oil seeps from the ground and collects on the water surface, so when Pig slinks up the hill guiltily, she leaves an oily trail of shame.

Goober Died Of Diabetes 9 Years Ago, So Fat Continues To Be Amazed That Spike Has Made It To The Ripe Old Age Of 21. He Doesn't Do Much More Than Sleep, And Nibble At His Food. He's Gotten Very Old-Looking And Skinny, But He Is Comfortable And Happy.

so, one day about two years ago my wife calls me at work frantic. our cat salem (pictured with his daughter esmerelda) came trotting down the hallway with a pigeon in his mouth! he had clawed a hole in one of the screens we had and snared a pigeon off of our windowsill! she was totally freaked out by this. he ran into our bedroom with it flopping around in his mouth. she locked that door, eventually found him under the bed and chased him out. but...she couldn't find the bird. she was totally losing it at this point. she got one of the porters from our building and paid him $20 to get the bird and remove it. he couldn't find it either. i told her to relax and i would take care of it when i got home. i checked under the bed, on top of the armoire, under dressers...no bird. i assumed my wife was crazy and he just had a feather or a small part of the bird and he had eaten it.
well, two days later (saturday morning) i'm on my computer and i hear fluttering behind me. i turn and the bird is hopping and flapping toward our window. it hopped onto the foot locker under the window, i went over opened the window and the bird fluttered off. totally bizarre.

Do you know how they are with cats?
When they first meet a cat, they will pester and chase them, and the cat will play "hot lava" and jump from furniture piece to furniture piece, but after a week or so, they settle down and don't give a rat's ass. However, they are very racist against American Eskimo dogs. They will constantly make insensitive jokes about Inuits and whale blubber and laugh through their short little noses. Mr. Pronto is so cute.

Living In The Boondocks, F_S Is Always Extra Careful In The Spring Because Of The Baby Animals. Today He Was Gonna Do A Little Mowing, But He Always Walks The Path First To Make Sure He Doesn't Disturb Any Nests Or Little Critters. Thank God; Look What He Found Today!
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid225/pe388a71a82275fb0d4316378c38143a4/e94f5ac6.jpg.orig.jpg
F_S Knows From Experience That Mother Deer Leave Their Fawns In A Protected Little Area, Usually Near The Edge Of A Field, While They Go Off To Eat. Fat Took The Picture Very Quickly And Quietly, And Then Walked Silently Away, So As Not To Disturb The Little Treasure.
Obviously, The Mowing Will Have To Wait!

Could be any number of things:
-Dont like the new food so he's being subborn thinking you'll give him the old brand soon enough.
- Upset stomach. Is he going at different times? Is his urine stronger smelling, or his #2 different?
-Teeth hurting.
As long as he's drinking water he should be OK.If its his dislike of the food eventually he'll breakdown and eat outta hunger. Maybe mix new with old food to see if that works. If it keeps up obviously you need a vet.

He was just being a weirdo. He ate about an hour ofter my post. He does this from time to time. It just freaks me out, since he's normally a pig.

Pronto ate a cooked pork bone on Saturday and my life has been hell ever since. Sunday AM he was walking funny and yelping so I took him to the vet. Xray showed bone fragments in the stomach. Was given option of horrible surgery or lubricate the stomach and wait it out. I waited it out, he was still sick the next day so I took him back. Xray shows bone fragments moving along through the intestines . STILL sick the next day and vet is now acting like I'm nuts. The dog was literally screaming every time I picked him up and lethargic all day. Cannot jump onto the couch. XRay showed no bones left in body, and vet claimed physical exam did not show pain. As I pick the dog up to leave the vet, he screams in pain. The vet told me to wait it out 3 days. 2 days later and he is FINALLY doing better and walking around, barking at people outside, etc. He still has pain when being picked up. He hesitates when lying down. There is some sort of pain obviously in his chest area. I think the bones might have cut his throat on the way down. Since he is healing and finally getting better, I am going to wait it out and take him back for a check if he still is showing pain by the end of the weekend.
It has been horrible. Please make sure your animals do not eat cooked bones. It's very dangerous and can kill them. I almost had to put my dog through surgery where they would have to cut him open, pull out his stomach, and cut his stomach open.

I always thought that only chicken and poultry bones are bad for them... never knew about other bones being just as dangerous.
Could it be that he just remembers the pain when it really hurt when you picked him up and he now still behaves scared as if it still could hurt yet he is better?
If that's the case then he should get better soon, a few times picking him up with no actual pain and hopefully he will forget the pain he had before.

I am hoping that is what it is, but I think he does have pain somewhere in his neck/chest. He sits up and almost falls asleep that way because he doesn't want to lie down. He doesn't want to put his head down to eat... even when I put some human food in front of him.
This seems to have improved greatly today, he jumped off the bed, put his head down to get some water, and put his head/neck down while stretching. Hopefully it's healing up. He did scream when picked up in the wrong spot again last night. If that is still going on in a few days, he'll go back to the vet, but he is definitely improving day by day now, which makes me relieved.

Coco is beautiful. We (well, Jeff really) took in cat #4 from the ferals that come around outside. She showed up out of nowhere and did not look like ANY of the other ferals around. She was very wild at first, but has really tamed up and likes to be petted/held now (she will swat you w/ no claws though, and she will only let jeff or i pet her). It takes some time to get a cat born outside to really warm up, but they will once they realize you're the one that feeds them. You have to also handle them a LOT (I tamed a feral kitten that my dad now has as well).
KKJ (kitty kitty Jacqueline) cat #4 which has now rocketed me into "crazy cat lady" status.

My dog Great Britain snuck a pack of sugarless gum off the counter today, and while gum is a big deal because of digestive blocks, it turns out that Xylitol which causes the new hip "cooling" sensation is toxic and can wreck liver function. So we're on seizure watch, induced vomiting, bloodwork, etc. Serious shit.
If you have a curious-ish pet, watch your gum! It's poison!:surrender:

Maybe it's psychological? Like he is expecting the pain to be there? I'm glad to hear he is doing better, he is a beautiful dog.
