Very Close to CT, Jersey, The island, Rockland County and NYC. I like it because its the suburbs, but at the same time very close to manhattan by Metro North or driving.There are some decent diners here alsoVery easy to get to from many different parkways around the metro area

I lived in Pelham Bay almost all my life.....we used to go up to yonkers all the time to do our shopping in order to save on taxes....can't do that no mo!!!!!!!!

We've got celebrities - David Letterman, DMXWe've got serial killers - David Berkowitz, et al.We can now buy beer at 8:00 AM on Sundays so the DTs can't really get a toeholdLike gentlemen, we call our sandwiches "wedges", as Jehovah intended.

I lived all over Westchester - Yorktown, Peekskill, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Thornwood and Hawthorne.  I live in the city now, so now I appreciate all the space I had when I lived in Yorktown.  Good times hanging out at the quarry and dams getting our drinking on.  And the Dobbs Ferry/Irvington area is just lovely little towns.  There is a great bike path along the aqueduct, beautiful old houses (including Washinton Irving's home), nice parks along the hudson, and great restaraunts.  I  highly recommend Sam's Italian Restaruant and Sushi Mike's in DF. and long live the wedge!

Don't forget it is close to putnam county too!  There are some great malls, and Walter's Hot Dogs, and yes, being from CT originally I appreicate only having to trip into Port Chester to get some beer.

They have a nice convenient airport, that at times is cheaper than either LGA or JFK, and is only 25 minutes from my house.

The Yonkers raceway was rumored for a long time to be The New Home Of The New York Jets... I would have loved that, but it would have ruined traffic for miles... Who could forget that Charles Xavier opened his school for gifted students right here in Westchester, NY.The original Dick Van Dyke show was also set in New Rochelle...

Except for college, I have spent half my life Rockland and half in Westchester. Except for the amount of driving you have to do, I prefer Westchester.When I lived in Briarcliff, in the winter I had a view out of my bedroom window down the river to the city. I also would go biking on the North County Trailway from Pleasantville to Millwood and back.
