So, they are going to shoot heat beams ... aka ... "lazers" into my eyes next week. Do any of you have any stories about the whole Han Solo, Obi Wan, Darth Vader lazer show for clearer vision?

I know Tiki Barber and Tiger and Opie did it ... so I want to go for it.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Good luck bro.

I've been trying to work up the nerve to get the surgery for quite some time. I'm so sick of contacts and glasses but i'm scared shitless of someone shooting lasers into my eyes.

Please let me know how it goes.

The only side effect I want is the ability to fly ... and see through cotton ...
Suppose you lose your super healing powers?

If I had the cash, I would do it in a heartbeat. Dr Dello Russo is HQ'ed in my town. My friend was wearing glasses since 13. He had it done and swears by it!

Let us know about the results.

my sister had it done over 3 years ago, and it was a great success and she's really, really happy. she had horrible vision before and now she's 20/20. the only small side effect was that she would sometimes see little rainbows at night when looking into lights.

my one bit of advice is to follow the instructions they give you for the post-procedure care with the eye drops. my sister was really good about following the rules and they were very happy with her healing process. another girl who had her eyes done the same day didn't follow so closely, and she had trouble with her eyes being really dry and had some healing issued because of it.

good luck, i think you'll be really pleased!

It has been refined a ton since then and it was smooth even then. I went from Magoo to superman vision in 20 minutes. I went to Filatov in NYC and they were very good. Not to mention they seem to have an exchange program or something with hot Australian receptionists so it made the whole experience even better. The worst part of the whole thing was wearing my glasses for full week before the procedure. No contacts for at least a week and I for one hadn't bought glasses in years so they were old, the wrong strength and fucking too small for my huge head! I wasn't about to go out and buy a new pair for one fucking week so I just had fun with it.

Go for it and good luck. Well worth it!

heh, one of my companies benefits is Lasik. i have shit vision, but i'm too chicken shit to have it done. and after watching that video i'm definitely chicken shit. I'd have to be put under or heavily sedated.

Come on Skellington, you can't wait to smell the odor of your own eye tissue being burned with lasers.

Earl, do we have any laser-burned retinas around here? I'm starvin'.

I want to do Lasik, but I need to save some cash in my medical bank thingy at work. My next pair of glasses is gonna be surgery.

Opie had it done by the guy who pioneered it (I forget his name off the top of my head), but he's dead now. Hosp went to the same guy, so you can always ask him for his adventure in lasik.

Good luck with the laser beams.

i had it done in feb, i would definately do it all over again, for me the procedure was a bit claustaphobic and they put theese eye clamps on u kinda like a clockwork orange,as far as post op side effects it really does vary from person to person, the main ones for me were sensitivity to light, going to wal-mart for the first few weeks felt like i was staring at a row of stadium lights, and my vision was a bit blurry for the first few weeks best as i can describe it was as if people walking closer towards me were walking out of a patch of fog, but in time it all heals up and you should be 100% in a week or so just make sure you follow directions with your eye drops and keep them lubricated.price just depends on how bad your eyes are because i have a bad astigmatism it cost abt 3g's well worth it if you ask me

Had it done about 5 years ago. Best money I ever spent. It is really incredible. I
wore glasses since 4th grade. My eyes were so bad that when I finally got glasses
I was amazed that trees had individual leaves!
But I'm an old fart and the one thing lasik doesn't do is prevent the need for
reading glasses. But it is great to go the beach and go swimming and be able to
look back at the shore actually be able to see something!

I had it done about 7 years ago. Wore glasses for about 20 years prior, and I am still happy with the results this many years later. I actually drove the same night I had the procedure performed.

My advice to those that have just had it performed and those that are on the fence: give it time.

As amazing as the immediate results are, your eyes will actually improve over the next weeks and months. I noticed improvement over about 6 months.

As for side effects, for me and my friends who have had it done, it was no worse than contact lenses (dry eyes, halos, etc.) and those go away as well.

Any complaints I've heard or read about, were generally from people who had never worn contact lenses, so were unfamiliar with the items above, and/or hadn't given it enough time before passing judgement.

Ok, so the results are fantastic, but my prescription has slowly gotten worse everytime I had my eyes checked. Will LASIK simply "reset" my eyesight to "normal" and then will my eyes slowly start getting worse again ?

heya captain rooster, hows life going? hows your Lasik? Anywat i also undergo the same surgery last year reason i replied to your thread, the result to me was pretty amazing, at first there was side effects ( its normal) but after a couple of months the condition of my eyes went great I can now see 20/20 and its pretty cool going out without having an eye glasses. It makes me feel young again. I had my Lasik at my2020 (http://www.my2020.com) actually. How about you where did you had it?

My2020? Why don't you tell us more about this wonderful LASIK. I'm sure they are not only certified but eminently affordable! And the doctors have to be top notch! Why, you're just asking to go blind if you go anywhere else, am I right?

I too had my Lasik surgery at My2020! Take it from me folks, it really works! The doctors are professional and the staff are warm and welcoming. You'd be wrong not to spend your money at My2020.

Yes, but you have 1,435 posts. This is his only one. If you came out and said you had a great experience and mentioned the doc's name, it would be a completely different situation.

2 years later... 3.5+ in most cases......... how is it now
i just read every word, cuz i'm pretty much ready to commit to it
my main concern.... spending 3 grand or whatever on this and needing glasses again someday - even if it's 50 years from now... that'd be bullshit, i want this to be it. i think i'd be paranoid to some extent that i'd slowly go blind again? i've heard stories of it not 'taking' - thats my fear. so howya doin
it'd be one of the weirdest days ever, but so worth it........... 25 years of blindness out the window - literally a dream come true
should i go for it? cash in hand and more than ready..........
