SANTO DOMINGO -- Nelson de la Rosa, the world's shortest actor and a ubiquitous good-luck charm for the Boston Red Sox during their victorious 2004 World Series run, died at a New York hospital on Sunday, his agent said.

De la Rosa, who was about 2-foot-4, died of unknown causes, producer Andres Duran told The Associated Press. He was 38.

Okay....now, I hate to speak ill of the dead, but this is hysterical

De la Rosa's body will be sent back to the Dominican Republic after an
autopsy and then could be put on display in a museum, his agent said.

If they are going to have him on display why not put him on Pedro's front lawn?

Funeral arrangements have been made.

He will be laid to rest in a shoebox between Pedro's parakeet Tweety, and bunny, Mr. Jingles.

In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors at the upstairs toilet.

I hear that his memorial service will be a very small affair. Get it? Because he was LITTLE!

But seriously folks, the entertainment industry has lost a true giant today.

Didn't the Mets just sign him to a big four-year contract? Not a good idea.

Edit: I was just curious, anyone know what his favorite position was in baseball?
