Former CBS News radio and TV reporter Christopher Glenn, who died Tuesday from liver cancer at 68, spent 35 years at CBS News. He hosted the children's program "In the News" as well as "World News Roundup" and "The World Tonight" with a distinctive voice and signature style that was instantly recognizable.

I had forgotten about Christopher Glenn, but damn... He was basically my first introduction to TV News. RIP, Budday.

Christopher Glenn was the first adult who communicated the world to me as a kid. I was riveted by those those In the news things...he presented real stuff and didn't talk down to you and had a newscaster voice, but somehow you just absorbed and understood, at least a little, what he was talking about.

Every once in a while I find myself mumbling "In the News, I'm Christopher Glenn..."

this from youtube...that signature music is chilling if you haven't heard it for a while...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbRFMbGVfNI

Wow I just heard about this... He was younger than I thought. I remember watching him when I was a kid. It was one of my favorite parts of Saturday morning.
